Can anyone tell me where I can purchase a Detroiter ping pong table. I called
Martin Kilpatrick and they said that they had switched to Butterfly brand. I
you dont know who sells them then please let me know where they are
manufactured.

Thanks in advance Rick Cisneros

I grew up playing on Detroiter tables before discovering the virtues of the
thicker tops and sometimes sturdier frame designs on tables made by some of the
other companies.
They are fine for home use, if handled somewhat carefully. But
unfortunately, the price advantages they once held over other brands (including
'imports') have largely disapeared and you may be better off / happier with a
competitive model from Donic, Butterfly or others , often available from some
of the same stores and distributers.

If you are looking for 'made in america' , the tables by 'lifetime leisure',
and stiga, (among others) are mostly made here rather than imported.

Good luck -

We have a bunch of used ones in the Austin club you can have for 100$ a piece, they
are in good condition. But about 10 years old.

Hi Rick:

Originally, Detroiter Tables were manufactured by Michigan Ladder Company in
Ypsilanti, Michigan. Until the ITTF Approved European tables appeared in the
United States, the Detroiter Tables were the standard for tournament
competition in this country. A number of years ago, the Butterfly importer
(Martin-Kilpatrick) purchased the Detroiter Table Division and began
manufacturing the tables in Wilson, NC. If Martin-Kilpatrick is no longer
manufacturing the Detroiter Tables, they should be able to tell you who is, if
they are still in production.

Good luck.
