Congratulations to the TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS!!

What an impressive performance. Except for the "Dungee-esque" clock killing
effort of the end of the 3rd quarter and the majority of the 4th quarter.
Almost cost them the game if it weren't for the dominating defense of the
home team. I will be at the stadium Monday evening to welcome home our new
champs. Gotta go now so I can do my part to burn down the city... oh, wait,
wrong town, wrong team...

The same applies to foosball as it does in football; defense wins
championships!

Not that some dumb Limey is qualified to comment, but:

The Raiders were playing like a Sunday league team for all but a 10 minute
(read 1 hour) spell towards the end when it looked at one stage like a
miracle was on the cards, but overall it looked a bit like Frederic -v-
Ben D...

Enjoy!

Very interesting point. The Buc's defense put in three touchdowns. Does
that mean scoring defenses are superior to shutdown defenses?

I think the Bucs D can be considered both a shutdown D and a scoring
defense. They really don't take that many chances (i.e. a scoring D)
but they are so good at what they do (shutting down) that they end up
scoring some points off of the turn overs.

so happy the bucs. beat those freakin' Raiders! You gotta appreciate
a good D.

The Bucs' defense reduced all of the "great" players and offensive "threats"
to simply average or below average players all season. There is no saying
that the Raiders had an "off day"; the Bucs' defense prevented the Raider
offense from developing a rhythm and even if you take away the points scored
by the defense, the Buc's would still have won by 6 points.

Right on. The Raiders played the Bucs a year ago or so when they were
coached by Gruden and handed Tampa Bay their ass. Coaching sure makes
a difference, too.
Maybe that's what I need-a better foosball coach! So how do I go
about firing myself and hiring a replacement?

8,000,004 draft beers? Promaster foos coaches command a rather
substantial bartab these days. Couldn't we negotiate that down to
"all you can drink" next time you and I are in the same state?

It's a 6-year deal worth 133,334 beers a year with a 20-case signing bonus.

dang K!

I think I'd just wait another year. I hear there will be a lot of
beer drinking pro master coaches filing for free agency by then.

That or push Tom to 8 years.
