Read someone's negative review concerning the Lousivill Slugger
C405 Powerdome. He said it had dented badly ("...looked like a boat
paddle..."). Yikes! I just purchased this bat for my softball team.
I'm wondering if he had used this bat according to their
instructions, i.e. not using it when the temperature is below 60
degrees, not using it vs. pitching machines, not using it vs. wet/cold
balls, etc.
I would be interested in hearing back from this person, and anybody
else, concering the Powerdome. I have had real good success with the
Louisville Slugger TPS bats in the past. Also, would like to hear any
comments concerning these other bats:
(1) The Easton Reflex CU31 Bottle Bat
(2) Any Dudley Bat
(3) The DeMarini SW Ultimate Weapon bat, 14" barrel (as opposed to his
DW bat, which I have read a great deal about on this newsgroup site).
Thanks!

I have several (3) TPS bats and let the entire team use them. None of
these bats have ever dented. They have actually held up very well and
have been used for several seasons with no problems.

Don't see to many of these....

I have only used the DW with great results. The bat I used last
season (had my best season in three years) was a 30oz TPS (green)
no-warranty bat. It still has good pop to it even after three full
seasons of use.

Good luck.

I have owned and/or hit with:

Worth Carl Rose
Worth Wendall Rickard
TPS Black 405
TPS Black 405 Plus
TPS Outlaw 405 Plus
TPS Ritch's Superior 405 Plus
TPS Dirk Androff 405 Plus
TPS Ritch's Superior 405 No Warranty
Grover Gold
Easton Reflex Dan Schuck

No, I have never had the opportunity to try a Demarini.

The bat I swing the most is my TPS Outlaw. I figure I should get as
much out of it before it is illegal. However, I have found that good
mechanics and patience is far more important than the type of bat being
swung. After all, at the end of the season do you look at your overall
batting average and on base percentage, or do you try to figure out how
you did with each respective bat. I've gotten on base with $30 Walmart
bats, and I've gotten on base with $150 TPS bats.

Just for the record, however, I do indeed like all of the TPS bats a
lot!! They have great amounts of pop. I would recommend getting a bat
with a warranty first. This is now pretty easy because the only
non-warranty bat Louisville is making is the Outlaw. All of the new 405
Plus bats are holding up great! The old 405 alloy just wasn't strong
enough. My whole team can swing my 28oz Outlaw 405 Plus on a 45-50
degree night without any fear of denting.....

Good Luck!!!

Swing Hard!

Last year I used the Black Doug Roberson C405 TPS. It had some pop, but
wouldn't last. I went through 3 of them. Two dented and one actually
split down the middle in two places. Now I'm using the Green Ritch's
Superior C405 Plus and havn't had any problems. I've played in 4
tournaments this Winter in temps below 50 with 50 core balls. My old Doug
Roberson wouldn't stand a chance in those conditions, not even flat spot on
my new bat. It has good pop also.

Donnie-
Were you using the older version of the C405? I too had some problems
with the regular C405 alloy. However, everyone that I knew had problems
with the regular C405 alloy, regardless of the manufacturer. The new
alloy, C405 Plus, seems to be far superior to the older version. I also
went through 2 of the older Black TPS bats, before I traded in and
upgraded to the new C405 Plus. Sounds like the bat manufacturers rushed
the new alloy to the market without enough research.
