DEBRECEN 0
LIVERPOOL 1 (Ngog 4)

Ngog's goal was ultimately futile as Fiorentina's victory sent Liverpool
out of the Champions League and (hopefully) marked the beginning of the
end of Rafa Benitez, truly one of the most odious, manipulative and
despicable coaches to plague this sport in recent years.

Attendance : 15,000
Assist : Carragher

FIORENTINA 1 (Vargas 28 Pen)
LYON 0

Santana controlled a cross on his chest before rattling a volley against
the post, Lloris denied Gilardino on the rebound with a brilliant save.
Gilardino headed against the bar from the resulting corner. Marchionni
fell under minimum contact from Cissokho and Vargas smacked home the
penalty that sent Fiorentina into the last 16.

Attendance : 30,000
Assists : Marchionni (won pen)

RUBIN KAZAN 0
DYNAMO KYIV 0

Attendance : 23,185
Assist : n/a

RANGERS 0
STUTTGART 2 (Rudy 16, Kuzmanovic 59)

Pogrebnyak miscued yards from goal following great work by Hleb but Rudy
was on hand to put away the rebound. Seconds after Miller was tackled as
he tried to run onto a through ball Stuttgart hit Rangers with a sucker
punch, a ball out wide released Rudy and Kuzmanovic headed his cross
past McGregor.

Stuttgart have to beat Gonorrhoea in their final match to go through.
I had Gonorrhoea once, I came out in a rash.

Attendance : 41,468
Assists : Pogrebnyak, Rudy

UNIREA URZICENI 1 (Dragutinovic 45 og)
SEVILLA 0

Attendance : 10,007
Assist : n/a

AZ ALKMAAR 0
OLYMPIAKOS 0

A point will be enough to send Olympiakos into the last 16 and 14 of the
other sides will be rubbing their hands with glee. They can even go
through with a loss provided Standard fail to beat AZ Alkmaar.

Attendance : 16,213
Assists : n/a

ARSENAL 2 (Nasri 35, Denilson 42)
STANDARD LIEGE 0

Vermaelen hit a longball out of defence, Mulemo slipped as he positioned
himself to make a clearance and Nasri lobbed wide of Bolat. Shortly
after Gallas fouled Goreux in the box Denilson tried his luck from
distance, Bolat jumped and should have pushed the ball out for a corner
but instead put it into his own net.

Attendance : 59,941
Red Card : Carcela-Gonzalez 57 (Standard Liege)
Assists : Vermaelen, Gibbs

BARCELONA 2 (Pique 10, Pedro Rodriguez 26)
INTER 0

Henry flicked on a corner, with his hand (not really) and Pique brushed
aside Motta to plunder a goal at the back post. Barca's second goal
would have been great had Pedro not miss-hit a volley and Julio Cesar
not made a complete arse of himself with a comedy save.

Barca - go through with a win. Could go out IF Dynamo beat them by 2
clear goals and Rubin Kazan beat Inter. If Barca finish level of points
with Inter their superior head to head will take them through.

Inter - have to beat Rubin Kazan to go through. A goal-less draw would
be enough, any draw above 1-1 e.g. 2-2 or 3-3 would sent Rubin Kazan
through on away goals

Rubin Kazan - Go through with a win, see above

Dynamo Kyiv - Have to beat Barca, any margin will do IF Inter and Rubin
draw otherwise they will have to beat Barca by 2 clear goals.

I've probably missed something but don't really care.

Attendance : 95,000
Assists : Henry, Alves

Check the group standings. They need to lose for at least 3 goal
difference in Kiev for an Inter or Kazan victory to matter.

If Alcorcón can do it, so can Kyiv.

A 2-0 victory for Kiev would suffice, wouldn't it?
(not that it's any more likelier)

Ciao,
Werner
