LEEDS-UNITED -- new mailing list arrangements

The recently-founded Leeds United fanlist has now become a proper
listserv list, so Whites fans everywhere are invited to subscribe to
the "new" list. (Most, but not all, of the members of the old mail
alias list have been contacted with these details; apologies to anyone
out there who's been wondering what happened to their Leeds mail.)

To subscribe to the list, send a message to LIST...@VAX.OX.AC.UK
which says this:

SUBSCRIBE LEEDS-UNITED Gordon Strachan

You put your own name in instead of Gordie's, of course -- this
means that list members can see who you are if they want to when
they "review" the list (more details on that when you subscribe).

To send messages to the list, you write to LEEDS-...@VAX.OX.AC.UK
and your mail is distributed to everyone currently subscribed.

Once you've been added to the list, you get a message back telling
you so. It also contains important information about how to use
LIST...@VAX.OX.AC.UK -- so it's best to hold on to it, maybe
even print it out, for future reference.

If you have problems getting on the list, get in touch with me: I can
put you on myself if need be. However it's best for everyone to
subscribe themselves if possible, because that way the listserv knows
exactly what your address is. That's important because it only allows
postings to the list if the address in your mail corresponds exactly to
your address on the list.
