Has anyone seen the multi-talented Gus Caesar play for Airdreoneans
(apologies for the crap spelling). Has the centrehalf's amazing
ball skills set alight Scottish football yet. Also I have
recently heard a rumour that George Graham was offered a
million for Gus and turned it down!
I find either of these statements impossible to believe.
Caesar may have tried hard, but lets face it he was crap.
He made Gary Pallister look skillful. Also its not as if Arsenal
are or have been short of centrehalves is it.
Is Gus still in the first team? Ill never forget seeing his
amazing peformance in the 1987 Littlewoods Cup or his getting
sent of against an Argentinian side in USA.
Gus you were entertaining.

yeah - BBC-Ceefax (teletext) brought the news last night. Eric Cantona who came
from french club Nimes in a GBP 900 000 deal will play for the Red Devils from
this weekend ! Eric have had a hard time making it for the first 11 - so
Wilko was quoted saying that this might be a deal to the best for
all three parts involved. BBC had no transfer fee - but norwegian paper VG
mentions something around GBP 1 000 000. Eric has scored 11 goals in 19
games so far this season for Leeds. Ironically Eric was one of the main
reasons snatched the title from Man Utd last season.
Eric Cantona is expected to debute for Man Utd this weekend (!) in
the televised match between Arsenal and Man Utd.
so - what a shocker for us Cantona-fans !! i can't say i like it -
Cantona is an outstanding player - in any respect; and he became
truly loved by the Elland Road crowd. I mean - when on the bench last
year - you could hear 'Ohh Ahh Cantona' chants just if the man touched
his zipper on the training coat.
goodbye Eric - it's a sad thing to loose you to Man Utd.
( this _might_ bee seen in the light of Leeds signing norwegian
U21 star Frank Strandli. Leeds got rid of one attacker and foreigner -
so the chances for Frank will probably be better for making the team;
but according to my book - Frank is not _yet_ of Eric standards )

Scarcely credile meter goes through the roof - Gus recently returned from
injury to his rightful place in the heart of the Diamonds defence where he runs
the show. I do detect in your words a hint of sarcasm suggesting that Gus is
perhaps deficient in the ball skills division, you surely haven't seen him at
his silky best (NOT the man who was so misunderstood at Highbury)>

I say this with my hand firmly on my heart, getting rid of Gus Caeser is the
kind of mistake a manager can only afford to make once in a career - he is a
giant of The Scottish Game - a truly magnificent ball player - MY BELOVED etc.

Gus Caesar was on loan to QPR two seasons ago when QPR had serious injury problems
in their defence line. And honestly, he is the worst player that I have ever seen
playing for QPR, and if QPR had signed him I think that would have ended my
almost 20 years as a QPR fan! He's twice as clumsy as Danny Maddix -and THAT says
a lot :-)

It was for 1.2 million pounds, 300,000 more than Leeds payed for him.
I'd have thought there'd have been some reaction by now from the Leeds
fans on the net, perhaps they're still in shock. I imagine this will
go down like a lead balloon with the Gelderd End lads, especially as
their idol has been sold to the dreaded "Red Filth"!

Do you think he would have been on his way had Rangers not beaten Leeds in
the European Cup? Rangers picked up 1.2 million last week for the Marseilles
game, Leeds had to sell Ooh-Ahh to get the same amount. Then again, maybe he
didn't like getting beat in his own midden.
