Apparently it is on here in Canada on TV5.
Since they are quite international, perhaps they cover England as well.

There is no "English" TV but I believe the match will be shown on $ky
Sports.

There is in so far as there are regional variations between the BBC
and ITV services available in Scotland and different counties in
England (and Wales & Northern Ireland, for that matter).

For example, in the days when UEFA Cup matches were on BBC, my local
service might have shown Liverpool or Aston Villa in action, wheras
Paul Crankshaw's would have shown the Hearts game (the new Europa
League is still on BBC in Scotland but on ITV in England and also
ESPN).

Sky TV, however, is a UK wide broadcaster who's content does not
differ from region to region.

To be precise, Sky Sports 1 at 7.30pm. If your friend doesn't have a
subscription most city centre "high street" pubs show Sky games.

It's on Eurosport and Sky Sports 1.

And while on the subject, anyone know the Euro qualifier coverage in
the US of A?

Tomorrow, Russia-Slovenia, Greece-Ukraine, and Portugal-Bosnia are all
live on Setanta. Ireland-France is only in French on TV5 or English in
bars with $20 cover charge.

Not sure about Wednesday except that Ukraine-Greece second leg will be
live on ESPN2.

Are you sure about that? It might be on the Eurosport service
broadcast to mainland Europe (I haven't checked), but Eurosport UK 1 &
2 are showing Alpine Skiing and US PGA Tour Golf respectively when the
ROI - France game is on, at least if the Sky Digital EPG is anything
to by anyway.

It wouldn't make sense for Sky to shell out for the broadcast rights
to a game that can be watched for peanuts on Eurosport UK.

On this note, ESPN are showing Russia - Slovenia live at 4pm, if
anyone's interested.

TV5 does indeed broadcast a European service.

However, the version available in the UK (whch you have to pay for,
incidentally) is showing some variety show when the match is on.

Anyway, http://www.rojadirecta.com/ and
http://www.atdhe.net/ are your friends . I watch the game full screen
on the PC, not a problem. Even had the choice between FR channel M6 or
Sky on Veetle

These matches are usually not on Eurosport but under some conditions (I
have no idea what they are) they get the non-French rights for France
matches and once in a while you get one live. I just checked the
website... Ireland - France is announced to be live on Eurosport from
21h00 CET in Germany.

As Real Mardin notes, however, this doesn't mean it is on in the UK...
and I looked at http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/football/international/
and indeed there is no mention of the match being shown live. Perhaps
this is due to the influence of Sky and/or their colleagues.

Indeed. I think France only does it for non-French broadcasts (e.g., in
France for Le Tour the Eurosport commentary is the English one while at
night they show the German one).
