"Nwankwo Kanu's official age is 33 but his real age is 42. Obafemi
Martins is not 25 but 32. Jay-Jay Okocha was 10 years older than his
"official" age throughout his career. And Taribo West, whose playing
career ended only two years ago, is in his late fifties. Who says so?
A stream of bloggers on some of Nigeria's most popular websites, in
response to comments made after the country's timid effort in last
month's Africa Cup of Nations."
I guess you have to take some of these ages with a pinch of salt (or
maybe a pint ;)), but it's funny anyway.
Ciao,
SM
Well you have to be fast to get away from the lions!
This has been known for many years. I don't think Kanu has ever
denied that he is over 40 now.
Mike Hall
He looked 42 when he was 21.

If true, it would explain his rapid decline.

Now that may be an exaggeration. But it's funny nonetheless.
US Baseball saw the same thing with a lot Latin, especially Caribbean
players. It came out there was a whole rigged system in place to
falsify player's ages for the baseball draft in some countries.
Wonder how old Freddy Adu really is? I have heard stories that he's
about 5 years older than he claims
Aren't they going to invent something to determine the real age of a
person scientifically ? Kind of funny how they can say a lot of things
about somebody's ancestors and where they were from by DNA studies but
they can't tell exactly how old he is.
Long answer: no. :) That's impossible in principle. There's no
feature of the human body that is not subject to individual variation in
terms of aging or maturation speed.
