If so, who are the likely candidates?

These are the top 10 candidates according to Ladbrokes (the ones who
have never won a WC)

http://www.dailyfootballblog.com/2010-world-cup-odds/298.php
01 Spain
02 Holland
03 Portugal
04 Ivory Coast
05 Chile
06 Paraguay
07 Cameroon
08 Denmark
09 Ghana
10 Greece

USA is only 12th and Australia only 16th. Ladbrokes has England as 2nd
favorite behind Spain.

Ladbrokes? Sounds like a place for lads to go broke.

Thanks, I did not know the site prior to Raja's post, but since he was
quoting their Copa Mundial odds, it was obviously gambling related,
hence my (extremely) little jest! ;-)

Ladbrokes odds for the slams are too funny. Murray the second fave to
win the HC slams... Del Potro more favorite to win wimbledon than
Nole. Rafa more favorite to win the USO than Nole. Nole is very
unlikely to win any slams according to that site. ROTFL.

Italy is the most boring defensive team ever. How many goals did they
score last world cup? lol

Much to the detriment of football.

No wonder I get sick of even the World Cup after about 2-3 weeks.

Spain are the rightful favorites and are on the top tier with Brazil. Best
change they have of making it. Holland have an outside shot. Cannot see it
being anyone else..highly unlikely. Portugal has declined..no real
striker....lots of pretty passes that don;t go anywhere. They will be out in
the group phase.

Portugal have no real strikers? A certain CR has been scoring for fun
for his club.

Be nice to see an African team winning it though.
