Defoe gets 5, all in the second half. He literally could have had 8.
One of the best performances you will ever see from a
striker. He was pure menace from minute 1. Aaron Lennon was also
absolutely off the charts fantastic. Pretty much everyone in a Spurs
jersey had a fantastic game.
Now the big fat grain of salt. Wigan were awful, truly. Though poor
Titus Bramble and Rodallega kept trying.
Edman's one of yours? Ouch.
"One out of ten? Yes, perhaps you’re right. That’s too
generous for Edman. He wasn’t that good. But in the
end I decided that for a player to get 0, he would have
to have spent the 90 minutes unconscious. Edman was,
however, moving throughout the game, although very
slowly and with no apparent defensive purpose. He was
easy to spot: the guy in the bright orange shirt looking
very unhappy, usually ten yards or so behind Aaron
Lennon as he disappeared into the distance with the
ball."
You never read something like that in Kicker.

It was a historic individual performance but he is a despicable little
bastard. He tried to maim Aaron Mokoena and put Sunderland goalkeeper
Craig Gordon on the shelf by deliberately stamping on his arm after
Gordon had gathered the ball. The fact that the latter was largely
ignored by the media speaks volumes. RVN and Ronaldo were hated for
less. Henry is public enemy #1 for handball but a deliberate attempt to
cripple players is 'a bad challenge'!?!?!? I hope Defoe gets a taste of
his own medicine.
