Hi,

I am planning to buy a pair of Rollerblade Fusion MX. Anyone out there
ready to share some information about the model? I would really
appreciate if someone gives me some info about the Black Hole Blur
wheels that they use for this model. Is Black Hole any good compared to
Hyper? What are the good and bad sides of the ABT brake?

By the way, there is really something screwy about the Rollerblade
web-site. If you go from the front page to Skates & Gear and choose
there "Skatefinder", then you'll be given the '96 model line to chooses
from. Just try and fill that questionnaire and see what model it will
suggest as being the best for you. You can actually access from there
all the '96 model line, which is different from the '97 model line that
is accessed directly from Skates & Gear by choosing "Our Skates". Those
guys are really messed up!

Buy them. I've had mine for a year now and they are great. The wheels
aren't the greatest, but after you use them for awhile, you'll replace them
anyway.

Hi,

I agree...I have had my Fusions for just over a year also and they've
been great from day 1 !! The wheels are the only thing I didn't like but
they can be easily replaced.

The good thing about the brake is that is really helps when you are first
learning how to skate because you don't loose your balance as much as you
do with non-ABT brakes. However, as you get better, they sort of seem to
get in the way. I find that I now tip my skate back instead of the
usual action you make to activate the ABT brake because it is faster.

Overall, they are a great skate and I would recommend them to anyone.
I can wear them for 2-3 hours at a time and have never been uncomfortable
in them because they seem much better ventilated than some of the skates
that I've tried like Bauer.

Both the Fusion and the Fusion MX are excellent recreation/fitness skates.
Very comfortable over long distances. I run a pair of Fusions myself,
and skate 15-20 miles per day, 7 days a week. Never had any problems
with discomfort or anything.

ABT? As I said in another post here recently, learn how to use
it as a regular brake, and your fine. Or, spend the 10-15 bucks and
convert it to a standard brake. That's the only way you are going
to get the control you really are going to need.

Any IISA certified instructor will be more than happy to show you the
proper braking techniques. Take advantage so that you can truely
enjoy your skate time.

I found them to be a good skate but awfully heavy. Have you lifted a
pair of Fusions and then Picked up a K2 or a Roces and feel the
difference. The Fusion felt like weights on my feet. Get pretty heavy
skating all day with them.
