Hi Guys!

I'm looking to get myself a new pair of inline skates. I'm not a pro or
anything, I just skate once in a while for fun.

I'm looking to spend around 140$ us or less. What do you recommend? I want
76mm wheels (or more) and ABEC 5.

Anyway, I'm waiting for your inputs, because you probably know a lot more
than me!

Thanks!!!

Carl

Good luck finding what you want for that amount. I think there are
some closeouts at Gart Sports on K2 Flight in that price range but
they didn't have my size. Many people recommended them to me. I
don't remember if they have ABEC 3 or 5. The close out price was 149
for last years model and 199 for this years model. I just got a pair
of Salomons AC 7s for 149, but they have ABEC 3 bearings. I saw some
Ultra Wheels for that price or less but I didn't like the way they
secured at the ankle and seemed too floppy for me although they had
ABEC 5s and 76mm wheels. Remember you can change bearings later to
ABEC 5s if you can't find the pair you want with them. My Salomons
also have the ability to increase the size of the wheels you can use
with them..up to 80 mm

If you skate once in a while for fun, why do you think you need ABEC 5
bearings? I think you'd have to be a pretty hot, agressive and frequent
skater to notice the difference between 3's and 5's (and if you're an
infrequent enough skater, 1's.)

I got a set of Rollerblade Kitalpha Deltas for $120. ABEC 3's and 76mm/80A
street profile wheels.
The Deltas don't have the ABS brakes, but other than that, seem a quality
skate.

RollerDerby makes a pretty nice skate, especially when you look at the price, they give you a lot of skate for the money. They have a fitness/rec. skate called the Forum series XF 825 $110.00 including shipping. I just got the 5 wheel version (805-same boot) for myself, to give myself a break from speed skates, and am very impressed with it.  I've been using it for about a week now, my friends have been trying it (now they want one), every one likes it...they're amazed that it's so inexpensive. For that price, especially if your budget is limited, it's hard to go wrong.

I am using the Bauer Xtra 5.5
I bought them in the UK, so it cost me lots but it is still cheap compared
to all the others.
I think you will get them for much less than $100 in the US. They are not
the best every, but I think they are a very nice skate for the price.

I use them for both recreational skating and skate hockey. I mean they get
a good bashing around in skate hockey and they are really quite robust.
I have been using mine for about 1 1/2 years and they are still really HOT.

But, don't get them if they don't feel fantastic whne you try them on.
