If so.....Don't say anything if you can't say something nice !!!!!
I know that it is not probably true...but I'm female and naturally nosy and
curious.
Thanks ahead of time.

You have hit the nail right on the head!!
Senseless is definitly the best word to describe this "rumor"! ( Actually, I
can think of some other words to use but I'm trying to keep it clean!)
<<This is the second request about this. Someone...please tell me what was
said about Kurt Browning and Katia Gordeeva. I know that rumors get started
because of things that happen--such as Kurt not signing up for SOI this
year. So what is the deal ?

Isn't it obvious what the rumor is just by the subject titles? That's the
rumor! That's it!

No kidding. ;-)

It's already the "goody-goody newsgroup." Katia, as a "brave young
widow," is an ESPECIALLY protected skater. There is no vile behavior in
which she could engage that any of her (obsessed) fans would decry.

Katia Gordeeva seems to be particularly protected in a "newsgroup
cocoon."

allowed to relay anything smacking on the negative about certain

There is a difference between "informed news" and "rumors." "Informed
news" is facts. "Rumors" are, well, rumors.

As much as possible about things that directly affect their SKATING.
Noseys who want to know all about the private lives of skaters get pointed
to the FAQ. I would have complained about this topic long ago if it
weren't for the slender thread that relates it to the skating career of
Kurt. Even so, I don't think there's much to go on here.

Nope. That's just your perception. She is not any more "protected" than
anyone else. Besides, Kurt and Scott are just as "violated" by this.

It has nothing to do with "certain 'protected' skaters." ALL skaters are
protected here from gossip about their private lives. Or at least an
attempt is made.

I've been finding out that several people here -- some of whom *should*
know better -- do not see that it is the same issue for *all* skaters,
*all* the time, regarding *any* rumor about their sex lives. They do not
see that unfounded gossip about heterosexual (mis)conduct is *exactly
the same as*, and *just as bad as*, unfounded gossip about homosexual
orientation.
Some of these people have said, "where there's smoke, there's fire".
Well, where does that leave *them* the next time someone comes up with
an ugly rumor about the sex life or sexual orientation of *their*
favorite skater? The rumormonger can just throw their own words back in
their face -- "where there's smoke, there's fire".
Think about THAT, people!

"Unless you hear it from the horse's mouth, it ain't necessarily so. And
sometimes not even then." (This saying can NOT be used against my
favorite skater(s), because it applies equally to everyone all the
time.)
No kidding. ;-)

Ann, your new ideas for false identities always amazes me....

did anything that might be even a *little* bit fun?
