yes! He was *awesome*.....

My own daughter skates at the same arena complex he does, so
occasionally I get to see him practising. He was actually one of the
judges at an early skating test she did, several years ago, so it's just
so gratifying to see everything come together for Jeff like this. I'm
sure the group at Mariposa will be beside themselves with happiness
Monday :-)

Yes dear boy - it's totally true. Jeff had a great skate, and Sandhu
didn't. Sandhu popped both quad attempts, and when he put himself on equal
ground with Jeff with his jumps, the rest of his program, while good, didn't
come up to Buttle's skate.

It was fun to see Jeff so happy, with his great white toothy grin!

262 POINTS! Wow. That's eleven more points than Plushy got at the GPF.
Go Jeff. I am really crazy about the music and the costume.

And boy was he cookin' :)

I did feel sad for Sandhu, though. His LP is the best he's had for several
years and it was marvelous at Skate Canada. Just didn't work tonight,
though.

Well, there was a qualifying round that added points to the total, so it's not
quite that impressive, but the LP total is very World-podium-worthy.

I love the music too. I haven't heard it before and it sounds quite
classical. I wasn't too crazy about the slow violin part in the middle - is
that part of the piece, or is it something else?

It's selected music from this rather artsy film called "Naqoyqatsi". I
may have fudged the spelling. I've seen bits and pieces of the film on
the Independent Film Channel and Sundance. As I have said before, it's a
little otherworldy, but I like Jeff's interpretation of it. I mean, we
all can't do Carmen.

We can't? Sure could have fooled me. ;-)
