along with 4 other triples. Lysacek landed his 3F-half loop-3S and 3Z-3T
combos, plus 3 more triples. Brauninger landed 3Z-3T and 5 more triples.
Lysacek and Brauninger both landed 3F-3T, 3Z and 2A in the short program. With
their silver and bronze in France, they have ensured themselves of receiving a
second JGP assignment apiece.

Why them in particular? Shouldn't we be congratulating everyone who can
compete at this level?
Fiona
Naaaaaaaaa!!
Besides, Julie seems to have missed the point:
Evan LOST to Shubin and
Alissa LOST to Kostner !!!!
We really should be congratulating Shubin and Kostner...and
DOMNINA/SHABALIN as well as MONTGOMERY/ARNOLD.
<G>
Cheers.

Because we can't help ourselves. We stupid Americans are just so US
centric. It's not our fault that the USA is Earth's capital.

"Conquer the mountain, dude!"
Well, maybe she is familiar with those two, or is just being a good,
patriotic, jingoistic USAan. I'll second the congrats because:
1) They're really great skaters.
2) I'm a proud, jingoistic USAan.
3) I'm a proud, regionally jingoistic Midwesterner.
4) I've seen them both skate, and they're really good.
5) Did I mention that they both skate very well?
I'll add more special and exclusive kudos to Jordan Brauninger (another very
fine Midwesterner who I've seen), Morgan Duhamel (see, i'm not exclusively
jingoistic, and I saw her last summer at NACS), and Fleur Maxwell, who
pulled up several positions after the short (I saw her at Skate Detroit -
she trained in the Chicago area this summer).
And last, but not least, congrats to all who worked hard enough to be
selected. And... all the coaches, trainers, choreographers, parents,
friends, family, judges, volunteers, rink staff, zamboni drivers, boot and
blade makers, skate sharpeners, sponsers, costume designers, sequin and
illusion fabric manufacturers, fans, the Academy...

PS to Fiona: I'm not poking fun at you, i'm just in a wierd mood tonight.

Maybe the original poster already has a particular interest in those two
skaters?
For myself, I'm thrilled to see Jordan Brauninger do so well in his
first international. I became an instant fan last fall after
witnessing his amazing free skate at Midwesterns. 7 triples including
a triple lutz/triple toe from a 14-year-old first-year junior kind of
makes me sit up and take notice. :-) I understand he did the same
thing in France, and skated a clean short as well -- so, congrats to
Jordan, too. :-)
