Yes they are married. He was, for a while, married to Isabelle Dushenay
(excuse the spelling!!), who is a Canadian dancer who skated for France.

Can someone clear this up for me? Are Jill Trenary and Chris Dean married?
I thought he was married to a Canadian pairs skater. Just a bit confused.

Christopher Dean WAS married to Duscheney (sp), the Canadian ice dancer.
He was also married before that and had a few children, I believe.
Jill is his third wife.

Chris was formerly married to Isabelle Duchesnay, who is an ice dancer
with her brother Paul.

I beg to differ. No kids, two marriages.
Hi Kristin,
Chris and Jill are now married. However, Chris was married briefly to
Isabelle Duchesnay, a Canadian lass who, with her brother Paul,
represented France as ice dancers. They won gold at the 1991 World
Championships in Munich and silver at the 1992 Winter Olympics in
Albertville.
Hope that clears things up.
A skating fan,
JoAnne
Yes, Jill and Christopher are married (for a year or so I think). But he
was also married to Isabelle Duchseney(sp?) the French (but originally
from Canada) ice dancer. They were divorced quite awhile ago.
Neither Jill nor Isabelle has had any children, so if Chris has fathered
any he's been quite discreet about it! <G>

....
I seem to remember distinctly that in 1984 when Chris Dean and Jane
Torvill won Olympics it was stated in a profile on him that was shown on
TV that he was married. I think they said he had two children, but I
couldn't swear to it. But I do remember that he was married. Jane was not
married at the time, but did marry later. And I recall when he got
engaged to Duschenay I thought he must have gotten divorced somewhere
along the line.
Anyone know for sure about this? I still believe Jill is Chris' third
wife.
Marilyn
I just did a quick review of T & D's first book - Torvill & Dean written
by John Hennessy which was published in Britain in 1984 just after the
Olympics. There is no mention of Chris being married during this
period. Indeed, the book mentions quite frequently how interdependant
that Jayne & Chris were with each other. Jayne also states "...but for
the moment he has time only for his skating. He is very single minded
about that.....When, occasionally, a girl has of making a play for him,
he soon lets her get the message. He is not interested, not just now."
Also, in light of other comments regarding Chris's treatment of Jayne,
he wrote an absolutely lovely tribute to her. In one part he says "I
suppose she looks small and vulnerable. I often treat her like that,
throwing a screen around her when she needs protection. To hurt her is
to hurt me." Jayne also says "Quarrels are inevitable when you are
doing something creative...Sometimes he hurts me with his gibes, nearly
always on ice under the pressure of inventing something new.
..We both realize that a certain amount of discord is inevitable,
otherwise we would have to be paragons of virtue." This was in 1984,
it does appear that when Jayne defended Chris in their most recent book
that she was stating a long held position.
Anyway, must go now and mourn the Bruins most recent loss.

Thanks, Pat. If no mention in 1984 book, then maybe my memory is faulty.

As for a Canadian pairs skater, Isabelle Brasseur (partner: Lloyd Eisler)
married USA's pairs skater Rocky Marvel (partner: Calla Urbanski) this
past summer.
Christopher Dean and Jill Trenary tour with Discover Stars on Ice.
The Duchesnays toured with Campbell's Tour of Champions (before Paul's
rollerblading injuries, any word if they will be back this year?)
The tours are not the same, the foursome don't travel together, so it
isn't an "interesting situation".
