The current draft of ACTA got leaked, and, surprise, that provision
appears to have been dropped. While there is a lot of other stuff that
is BAD, it could have been far worse. The circumvention of country
filters is not specifically mentioned. In fact, the prohibition on
"privacy tools" is not mentioned either. So the internet, and
especially big business, dodged a bullet on that one, as outlawing VPN
would have created seucurity nightmares for businesses all over the
world that depend on it for secure remote access to their networks. So
dgs and his pals don't have to worry about "remote login" programs
becoming illegal, as an earlier draft of ACTA would have.

And as the new owners of ACR/ACTV, it appears that some of the earlier
provisions to make live blogging sports without a licence illegal are
not in the current draft of the treaty. So we will be able to continue
broadcasting and live blogging sports, as always. So that is a major
relief. And we are already looking four years down the road to Sochi
2014.

Unless the final draft does include the prohibiition on live blogging
with a licence (and it is still possible, because there is one more
negotiation session for the ACTA scheduled for early nezt year), it
looks like the station will be able to continue its long tradition,
started by the original owner, of broadcasting all kinds of sports
worldwide.

We just bought the station, and we want to make some money from it. We
are already make our plans to cover French Open 2010 in Paris, and
Wimbledon in London, as far as tennis goes. We are waiting for the
2010-2011 Grand Prix figure skating schedule to be announced.
