Compared to the Glutton Bowl, it is definately upper crust programming :-)

Put her against Pasha Grishuk! Pasha is always wanting to get in the public
eye. Here's her chance!

I'd say put Tonya in there with Nancy. They could probably even
put that on Pay-Per-View. I'd pay ten bucks to see it, fifteen max. :-)
Too obvious. That was probably the original idea, but Nancy would've turned
it down.
Pasha would be a much better choice. Given that her main off-ice activity
seems to be stealing other skater's husbands & boyfriends she'd have no
shortage of opponents eager to give her a good thumping. Unlike the
Tonya/Paula bout it'd be a real grudge match.

I'm not gonna touch that one.
...Jessie?
I am sure that every other elite female skater in the World has too much class
to degrade herself in such a manner. Harding continues place her black mark on
figure skating
Yes, Tonya took a cheap shot AFTER Paula had conceded the fight. I
guess some things never change. ;o)
What about the French judge ?? hahahahaha

> I did manage to see the Harding/Paula Jones boxing match.
Oh, I made a night of it. I watched Survivor, including the variety of injuries
and cures, and then the celebrity boxing. It was a charming double header, in
its own way. Way better than being held up at the point of a shotgun, for
example.

Very much reminded of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. "Run away!!!!"

Considering the fact that nobody mentioned that Bonaducci (sp?) kept hitting
his opponent on the back of the head... I'm surprised anyone noticed that Tonya
stuck Paula after she surrendered. I guess the difference is, Barry whoozit was
running away without giving up and falling down a lot, while Paula just said
she wanted to quit. Ref was slow to call the fight, so Tonya wins.
>Harding complimented Jones and seemed happy that it was conducted

I think she was happy because a) she won, and b) she was the one paid to wear
the temporary tattoo advertising in the bout, c) she got to wear the white robe
instead of the black robe and the snazzy red white and blue trunks and d) she
was the main event. I don't think it had anything to do with the mock sport.
It so very reminded me of pro skating events, complete with the
outraged/overenthusiastic commentators trying desperately to make these
pathetic attempts at sport seem important and special and athletic. I'm
surprised the Brady Bunch guy didn't have a heart attack, so in-shape he
wasn't, yet they tried to talk it up like it was a noble attempt. Please.
Tonya at least looked to be in shape, and she moved her feet. But boy did Paula
clock her one in round 1.
> They weren't exploited --
Define "exploited" for me. I think using their sordid reputations as an
audience draw is certainly exploitation of a sort.
What frightens me is this might become a series. But if it does, I hope Tonya
continues in it, because she'd finally find something to do with herself.

No, but that Vanilla Ice guy was. Wasn't there a comment about swinging a
purse?

Definitely agree with that. Hey, it seems like honest work.

but it was before the referee actually stepped in and stopped the fight
paula's concession didn't visually look much different than the
hiding & running she spent most of the final round doing...

Nah, the funniest line is after between rounds and Paula had taken a

Didn't see it broadcast, just saw bits of pieces on ET.
