Division I
Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue 13 12 Ormstown
A dull game as both teams return to ten man rugby. However the
final result was in doubt right up to the final whistle. With a
strong wind behind them, Ormstown built a 9-3 lead at the half.
Ste-Anne replied in the second half via a penalty try for a
deliberate collapse by Ormstown on their own line. Ormstown
turned up the heat and were rewarded with a penalty for offside
against Ste-Anne which was successfully converted for a two point
lead. A tough Ste-Anne team, missing their top player Stewart
Creagh due to suspension, fought back to take the lead by making
use of the wind in kicking a 50m penalty with less than three
minutes to play. Again Ormstown responded and had a chance to win
the game on the final kick of the match. However, the effort fell
short and the clearance to touch ended the match, Ste-Anne
capturing their tenth successive Division I cup final.
Oh Bloody! Can you tell this review was written by a referee? Can you
tell it was the referee who called the match?
Nice review Simon, just teasing...:)
