"HOMSEXUAL BOK AFRAID FOR SPORTING CAREER
Johannesburg - The South African Rugby Football Union doesn't
discriminate against anyone - not because of their race, religion or
sexual preferences.
That was the reaction of Rian Oberholzer, executive officer of SARVU,
when it was
revealed that a "well known Bok, whose name regularly appears in the
headlines of newspapers" is homosexual.
The interview with the player, whose name isn't mentioned, appears in
the latest
Gay SA, a homosexual magazine. According to the magazine the player is
always in the
news and girls are mad about him because he is so handsome.
Oberholzer says he knows about the interview with the player but that he
doesn't
know who it is. "It doesn't matter what his sexual preferences are. If
he is homosexual he can still play for the Springboks".
COACH DOES NOT KNOW
Carel du Plesis, coach of the Springboks, says he doesn't know of any
gay player.
"I can't say anything at this stage. I will comment when I know who
the player
are."
In the article the player says (he lives in the Rosebank area in
Johannesburg in a
house behind high walls) that he build the walls not so much for
security reasons, but
to a little privacy. "I would like to have a permanent relationship
with a man I
love and respect, but it is difficult. Unlike the entertainmant
industry where
men can afford to be open about their sexuality, the rugby community
is conservative
and it will mean the end of my career if my secret gets out", the
player stated.
FREQUENTLY AT MEETING PLACES
He says he frequently visits places where homosexual men meet, but isn't
recognised
often, "probably because they don't watch rugby" he said.
"Those who do recognise me can not believe that a professional rugby
player can be gay.
They usually have a lot of questions about other well known players and
what goes on
in the locker after a game".
According to him he were intimate with a upcoming Springbok in the
showers because
the guy "watched me after games".
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And that my lovebirds, is the story. As a "New South African" I don't
mind the guy
playing for the Boks, but what do you NZ's and Aussies think about it.
The name of the player you ask me? My guess is Hennie le Roux.
I wonder if that is true. He would open Sarfu up for a court case if he
said anything
else and the player gets dropped later. It would be unfair
discrimination according to South African law.

The thought of two rugby players doing it in the shower after a match
gives me the creeps.

I think the usual embrace after a try will be something of the past.
The big test however, will be "THE SHOWERS".
Ps. I hope it's not Hennie.
<<>Ps. I hope it's not Hennie.>>
If the story is true and if it is him - who cares.
He played great rugby, won the world cup and was one of probably 45
top achievers of his lifetime.
He is getting on and a bit rusted now, but fuckit he was a great
center.
He should have been used as no 10 by the Boks as well, but the
selectors were too stupid.
Anyway, other people's sex lives are their fun and joy.
In the meantime I will enjoy watching rugby and keep on working on my
sex life.

What a mouthful Koos..
I have just been watching your national team over the last few weeks.
i was wondering if there are any players from other ethnic groups that
are of a standard which would see them in the SA team (that standard
would not have to be that high actually (;-})
Seriously i think that SA rugby needs stability in Selecting and
administratiion..
But boy, did they go well against Aussie.. I can sense that in spite
of the administration and selectorial policies the SA rugby may be on
the rise...
For me there is nothing on this earth like the sight of the All Blacks
and the SA rugby teams running onto the field.. (apart from my wife
who is looking over my shoulder as I type this)
===== I don't know how it happened, but it seems there is
an applet in my toaster and some guy in Norway keeps
burning my bloody toast. =======

Why do you always sound like such a defensive pussy in this news group? SA
will always be known for its aparthied past, there is nothing you can do to
change that. Get over it, and remember rugby will always be simply....a game.

Good
Yes you are way off the topic and unfortunately have lapsed into making
wild accusations and generalisations about other cultures just as the
"brainless kiwi" did. I agree he was talking utter crap but remember
this is the opinion of one man, and you should have noted not many other
(if any) people agreed with it or even bothered to reply.
