Could you explain me please why the Harlequins are allowed to play the H
CUP this year? I was quiet certain they were fined and dismissed from
european competitions...
D.
I think that was threatened but never carried through.
Richards left and Williams was banned, briefly. There was a hefty fine
as well, which probably helped.....
I dunno, ask the Irish who made up the panel

In other words, it's la belle vie for the Quins...
D.
Not really, some of the punishment was pretty draconian.
JH
It always is, check their postal address, now look at the RFU's.....
On match days - where is the overspill car park? Scratchy scratchy.....
I am afraid to say they were not D, and that's something I was
disgusted about. The club competes in the competition, not Richards.
They should have been banned, and if fans were out of pocket they
should have made that up. The 250,000 fine would have hurt more
without HC ticket sales as well.

S, that's what I thought too: a one-year long ban was the least we could
expect from such a cheat.
Now we face the possibility to have Quins winners of the 2010 edition...
La belle vie, really.

Indeed, dear, indeed... Thanks for the reminder.
D.
As a London Irish supporter I have no real love for the Harlequins
club but to be honest there is more than just the club involved. If
Quins had been kicked out of the HC it would have cost them
significant revenue and put the club at risk of closure.
The punishment has to be proportionate and if it had been too extreme
and forced the club into closure, not only does the club suffer but so
to do many loyal supporters who had no hand in the offense.
