Hull Sharks
David Williams
Phil Sigsworth tendered his resignation to the Sharks
this morning, and Tim Wilby accepted it. He is now
off to South Sydney as assistant Coach. There is plenty
of talk now about Steve Crooks taking the coaching job.
The Sharks have also released Australians Glen Liddiard
and Peter Wheeler on free transfers to York Wasps, with
Rob Danby, Paul Darley, Paul Crook and Gareth Stephens
joining them on loan too.
Our local paper is linking Sharks with Aussie Ian Roberts.

Am I right in thinking this chap is the one and only "Gay" RL player?
If so the mind boggles at the reception he would get from the forward thinking

Last time we came to the Boulevard we took an Indian lad with us, this
turned out to be a big mistake. No matter where we stood we seemed to find
mellam & threepenorth types hurling racial abuse about one inch from our
eardrums. We actually changed location about four times, the poor lad
didn't know where to put himself and we were all taken back by the
vociferous hatred he endured.

is the only gay RL player. Wilby reckons there were three gay
players at Hull FC when he played there. However, he might have
said three just to get people wondering who the 'third man' might
have been. As for the reception of the Threepenny stand, I reckon
Roberts playing ability would earn him instant respect from most.

A completely "out n'proud faggot" friend of mine once put it succinctly.
There is no-one on earth harder than a rent boy, so why bother sledging?
It would be like calling Ice Cube a "nigga". I also very much doubt
whether even the 3d stand could bitch like a drag queen.
It's not going to help the fight against relegation, you know.
A far as Roberts goes, I don't even believe Hull could afford his Dolce &
Gabbana shoelaces.

No! There are numerous others. It seems Ian Roberts is the only one who has
chosen to be open/honest about himself. I for one admire him for it. It
took a lot of courage to cop all the criticism he got from some "people".
