I'm sure some kind net-citizen will give you information on the
California Henley at Redwood Shores coming up in a couple weeks.

For my part, I'm maintaining a list of SF Bay Area rowing clubs,
phone numbers, contact names so that RSR can have a rapid and
accurate response to the constant 'I'm moving to the Bay Area, where
is a club I can row at' questions. Please provide me with info on
your club, I'll include it. Is that the name? Positive Strokes
Club? What sort of facility, equipment, program do you have and
where exactly are you located?

give me a contact name, phone, and email for the club, I'll insert
it to my list.

I know of no retail stores for buying rowing equipment. Join
USRowing and you can order anything you want or need through the
mail from the ads. Used equipment is constantly for sale here on
RSR.

I just joined a rowing club on San Leandro Bay and am interested in
hearing from other rowers on the Bay. What sort of events are there
for scullers and the various other types of rowers out there. Are
there any really good stores out there for buying supplies for rowing
and or buying sculls. Are there any other Positive Strokes Club
members here on the net?

If you have web access, Phil Akers maintains a web page on SF Bay Area
rowing at http://www.akers.com/barowing.html. Why he does this is not
entirely clear, as its my understanding that he does not row himself, but
it is a valuable resource (the page has a listing of SF area regattas, a
copy of Sully's SF Bay Area clubs list, plus links to some other local
rowing web pages).

Also, if you are interested in the California Henley regatta that Sully
mentioned, try http://reality.sgi.com/employees/tommasi_esd/CAHenley.html,
although I don't believe that there will be any open water events there.
