I was wondering if any of you guys could tell me if fluid have any
height change (difference in gate heights) built into their riggers?

Or is it just the case that the height is adjusted at the gates.

Additionally, does anyone on here know how to decipher Fluidesign
serial numbers?

Thanks in advance.

The impression I have from mine is that the rigger is welded level and
that the bulk of the height difference comes from your spacer clips
above or below the gates - I have it set up 1 ring higher on my left
hand (starboard) so I can row left over right. I've never touched the
adjusters on mine since it arrived, but I wonder if you have the
possibility of sliding the oarlock-holder up or down by loosening off
the screw which allows you to adjust the spread and then sliding the
cylindrical piece vertically (whilst or independent from rotating the
spread adjuster outwards / inwards) - I don't know if there is a slot
in the cylinder allowing you to do this.. To be honest, my boat rows
so sweetly I've never been tempted to try messing with the rigging.

Of course, I'm open to correction.

Did you try e-mailing fluid?

Yes the carriers are slotted both ways so you can change height and/or
spread. I do it all the time to compensate for different-sized
partners in my 2x.

I think there is some built-in left-over-right (1cm maybe) but why not
ask Gord Henry, the chief of Fluidesign? He's only an e-mail away.

From the horses mouth......1cm built in. Left over right.

Serial number clarified.
