Greeting rec.sport.rowing, this is not my first posting, but it has been quite a while
since I last posted.

I am looking for information about rowing clubs in Poland, particularly southern
Poland (Krakow, Bielsko-Biala etc..).

I am particularly looking for a club which accomodates older scullers (I hate the
word "masters").

My google skills have let me down, any clubs I have found are either facebook only,
or school/university set ups.

thanks in anticipation.

I cannot help you directly but have you tried asking someone at the Polish Rowing Federation?

Also, the 'Masters Regatta' (apologies for the word) was held in Poznan a couple of years ago. You could try contact the organizers.

For what it's worth, there are a few fast older sculler's on my side of the border, in Ostrava, a two hour drive from Kraków

I asked my friend... a former international sculler from Poland...

"Please tell him to go to AZS Krakow, (snip) There's no river in Bielsko Biala wide enough for rowing / a little too wild."

NEIL !! Good to hear from you!

Blimey, there's a blast from the past.

FWIW, your StrokeCycles page has been introduced to the good folk at the
Reddit rowing sub and is now consulted widely AIUI.

Sorry, I have no info on Poland, just wanted to say welcome back!

And I second that. Welcome back, Neil!

FWIW: Will you visit Poland as envoy for 5m proudly pro-EU kilt-wearers,
or to represent 54m embarrassed followers of a woeful bunch of overpaid
ball-kickers?

Cheers -
Carl

Hello Neil!
This is not my first post to rec.sport.rowing either. And also for me it's been a while since my last post here...

Wholehreatedly i recommend you to visit AZS Krakow. It's a home of Zdzislaw Adamik http://www.aldonakmiec.com/zdzislaw-adamik/#.VFIHFhpnDAc.facebook and his (former) trainee Zdzislaw Bromek https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zdzis%C5%82aw_Bromek
Just being around them is quite an experience.

There used to be one more club in Krakow city, and one in Nowa Huta, but i doubt if there's any activity at all.

Apart from Krakow, there is not much rowing in this part of a country. Well, technically Wroclaw is also a southern Poland, but that is few hundred kilometers west from Krakow...

AZS Krakow is well covered:

Good luck!
