Are there any experts out there in who know about rowing insurance?

I'm lucky enough to have just moved right next to a huge, Privately
owned, reservoir in Ireland. I have permission to scull on it provided
I can prove that I am insured so that the Dublin corporation are not
Liable. Does anyone know if the ARA insurance covers this? If so, how
can I prove it?

I have mailed the ARA, but I fear it may take some time to get an
answer, meanwhile I am itching to take out my brand new Carl Douglas!.

Many thanks.
Ben.

Insured for what? Civil liability, personal injury?

Marine insurance policies that I have come across (Amilcroft, Noble Marine
and Perkins Slade in the UK) include third party liability insurance for the
person(s) in the rowing shell - and I'm *sure* you've got that nice boat
insured with someone. This is usually 2 or 5 million pounds - I'd get in
contact with your boat insurers to check. Wouldn't want to comment on the
ARA.

Um not sure if ARA insurance covers training in a foreign country,
Ireland aint part of the ARA last time I looked ! You are probably
better off joining the Irish rowing association.
