this is for all of those cocky philadelphia high school rowers, most
notably those at s.j. prep. hahahahahahaha i hate to stoop to their
level but this is a one time opportunity so i have to indulge.

basically, what i want to say is that i think it is incredibly amusing
that philly's best, and cockiest, went all the way to cincinnati to get
fourth place, behind a new england, midwest, and west coast programs. i
guess that says something of the "philly rowing circuit is the shit"
attitude. oh well, maybe this will shut them up for awhile.

From what I heard the race was fairly close until the sprint. And to
defend my Alma Mater this was their first competition at 2000 meters. 5
seconds off the leader doesn't sound that bad going from 1500 to 2000.

In article <3s2n6m$j...@netnews.upenn.edu>,

I hate to get involved here, but...

St. Paul's, the crew which won at Cincinatti, is also a school program and
also normally races 1500 meters instead of 2000.

This should not take anything away from St. Joe's, which obviously
accounted for itself quite well. But Brian Terp was not implying that
St. Joe's was bad, only that SPS was better. I guess both crews are coming
to Henley, as is Cincinatti RC (I think, because I think I saw some people
in Cincinatti weathershirts at Henley this weekend). Henley, btw, is even
longer than 2000m (it is 1 mile 550 yards).

Are you friends with Terp? Do you know him?
He hates St. Joe's more than any other Phila. school.
I know for a fact that he WAS implying that St. Joe's sucks because his
old club beat them in Cinci. And I do know how long the Henley course
is. Thanks for asking though.
