We have just collected a FISA style quad / yole built by Rushworth Racing... Which is nice!
Unfortunately, she lost her rudder in the last days before we collected her. We're hoping to row tomorrow and I have the rudder cassette home to build a rudder. I haven't got in touch with Rushworth in time for some proper dimensions, so will be guessing for a short term solution unless anyone has any ideas...
Does anyone have any idea about how deep the rudder might be? The cassette is only about 200mm long, and maybe 25mm wide, so my rudder will have to fit within those to be removable. I'm currently thinking of making it about 200mm deep.
This won't be any sort of technical foil, just a couple of bits of ply sandwiched around the rudder shaft with enough corners knocked off to be close.
I'll make a decent faired foam and glass version when I get a decent set of dimensions.
So short term, has anyone got a picture, or a memory of an approximate size?
Any ideas would be great,
Thanks folks,
Jess.
