Tideway towpath distances

Hello there,

Does anyone happen to know towpath distances such as putney
embankment(eg TRC)-Hammersmith Bridge-Barnes Bridge-Chiswick Bridge?

It'd be quite useful for getting a feel of how long (or short more
like] a run I am managing... would use my bike speedometer to measure
it but I've lost it - doh! If anyone has a GPS handy and is heading
that way...

I know that Mortlake Anglian & Alpha's web site has distances from the
club to various landmarks (pink house, hammersmith bridge etc) should
be easy to work out form there

The measurements below are taken down the middle of the river, but are
pretty transferable to the towpath (when I run from TRC, my rough
estimates are: Harrods - 1 mile; St Paul's - 1 1/2 miles; top of
Chiswick Eyot - 2 miles; opposite Civil Service - 3 miles; Chiswick
Bridge - 4 miles)

You will find a distance chart on the Mortlake Anglian and Alpha
website under the 'Other: mileage' section. It gives distances both up
and downriver from their boathouse. Although it gives distances along
the river, you won't be far out for running distances and can probably
work out the extra for crossing bridges or where the towpath doesn't
run alongside the river.
