New version (v1.5) of Nikon CCD color mode IIIa/Ia preset for actual Nikon cameras has been released.
Changelog:
- Minor changes in the preset's profiles - optimized LCH-curve and chroma-curve.
- Added a separate version of the preset for the new Nikon cameras using the latest hardware version of the current Picture Control - D5, D500 and later (Camera compatible only in Capture NX-d).
- Added a subversion of preset with support for compact Nikon cameras Coolpix series (NRW raw support).
- Added experimental subversion of preset for generation 1 Nikon digital cameras (all cameras with a CCD sensor, and D2X / D2H) - to work with the non-picture-control cameras in the Picture Control system.
- Preset is no longer disables ADL (Active D-Lightning) and does not reset the previously generated exposure compensation, it was in previous versions. It is done for easy use in the previously edited NEFs. To disable ADL now serves as a separate add-on "ADL_EV_NR_off". It also disables Noise reduction to speed up software. I recommend to disable the ADL in the camera, and use it only in the program on the need for a complex dynamic range scenes.

Hi all! I accidentally found this discussion here. Today I just updated my preset. New version (v2.0) of Nikon CCD color mode IIIa/Ia preset for actual Nikon cameras has been released. Preset for free software Nikon NX Studio v1.2.x and later and Capture NX-D v1.6.x.
Changes in version 2.0 compared to version 1.7:
- Added support for NX Studio (see files with .nka extension)
- Redesigned color profiles CCD mode IIIa and mode Ia for all Nikon cameras on CMOS sensors: improved algorithms for protecting skintones from dirty colors, grayness, unpleasant wax coating, hypertrophied contrast
- Redesigned algorithm for improving color reproduction through chroma curve in LCH.
The preset has been successfully tested on NEF raw files of most recent Nikon CMOS DSLR and Z-series cameras: D7100, D7500, D500, D610, D700, D750, D780, D800, D810, D850, Df, D3x, D4, D5, D6, Z 50, Z fc, Z 5, Z 6, Z 6II, Z 7, Z 7II, Z 9.

How to install a preset in NX Studio:
You can apply a preset to any nef file through the Adjust-->Load Adjustments tab, selecting the appropriate preset file (with the .nka extension). After applying the preset, you must independently correct the exposure, ADL, white balance (temperature, hue) - on request. Can be applied in batches to a group of nef files. Also, the preset works successfully with nef files edited with earlier versions of the ccd preset. The changes made by the preset are adequately displayed in the Capture NX-D and ViewNX-i software, which are currently discontinued.
How to install a preset in Capture NX-d:
Apply the preset to any nef file through the Adjust-->Load Adjustments tab, selecting the appropriate preset file (with the .nxd extension). Further actions are similar to those for NX Studio.
For greater convenience and speed of work, I recommend registering presets in NX Studio and/or Capture NX-d software (see the algorithm):
1. Take any unedited nef file from the camera, or reset the edit of any nef file to its original state by clicking on "Revert to Original State" in the Adjustments tab (shortcut Ctrl+U).
2. Apply via "Load Adjustments" the mode Ia v2.0 preset file and, without making any more edits (!), click on "Record All Adjustments..." (for NX Studio) or "Register Updated Adjustments..." (for Capture NX-D) in the Adjustments tab, then give any name to the registered add-on, eg. "CCD color mode Ia v2.0", click OK.
3. Do the same operation with the mode IIIa v2.0 preset file, give a different name to the registered add-on, eg. "CCD color mode IIIa v2.0".
4. Now, to apply the presets, it is enough just to select them in the Adjustments tab. Incl. for batch application to a group of selected nef files.

I'm late to learn again, but it's never too late. My ADL is on low. Thank you, Eric. I have lost highlights many times, but no more. I have been captured by Lightroom5 and PS CC but will try to re-Capture NX2.
The new Auto Capture function enables automatic shooting for both still images and video by pre-configuring auto capture criteria, including motion, distance, and subject detection. This will allow users to shoot remotely as well as shoot from a variety of angles without the need to attend the camera directly. The new feature will also be available to use with the Pre-Release Capture function for a more reliable capture of decisive moments.
