thanks to Florian Caspari and Andreas Haeussler, who synchronously sent me links
to the server of the German rowing federation (DRV) as an answer to a request in
a German mailing list:

Hope that helps,

Wonderful; most interesting. Now what about the words they need to
add to the list? I nominate "bum-shoving" and "bump". And
shouldn't they have a word for when the bow man lets go of his blade
when his crew is losing near the start? The German language (of which
I am sufficiently fond to feel I can poke fun at) could get all that
into a single word.

Bum-shoving might be something like 'Kiste schieben'. [Note: 2(!) words ;-)]
I don't know any german counterpart to 'bumps-racing' since I never saw one here, and I doubt that they exist in
germany. Maybe the clubs can't afford them.
If you provide us with some criteria that make up a bumps-race, we can try to create a word.

"Wannsinn" wahrscheinlich, aber wahrscheinlich noch verrueckter und
gefaehrlicher und unglaeublicher. "Urwannsinn?"
