JC's Thunder Thoughts. 2/11

Yawn. This was the absolute worst Thunder WCW's offered in the 14 months
it's been on the air.
First, they replay, in their entirety, the video storylines with 1) Raven &
Kanyon and 2) Torrie Wilson. Torrie I could
get used to, as long as she isn't going to wind up an NWO slut in service to
Hogan, because that babe deserves
better than that. Raven, I think, is morphing back to Scotty Flamingo (not
Johnny Polo, as some people thought,
forgetting that Flamingo was his first alias in WCW. The Raven character has
run its course, so Scotty has opted to
go back to what brought him to the dance in the first place. To me, he was
always cooler and funnier before he became
Raven.
Secondly, the elimination phase of the tournament left me with an upset
stomach. Why put the Faces of Fear back
together just to break them up again, and make Meng go berserk? I blame
Bischoff for this. Chavo turning on KIdman
was expected to happen DURING THE MATCH, not after. Chavo ain't winning the
cruiser belt, though. Have to correct
Tony Schiavone on one detail (and Tenay & Heenan didn't call him on this,
amazingly) in that when the Horsemen lost
the first time, it was Benoit & MCMICHAEL, not Benoit & Malenko.
Technically, they're right in saying that this was do
or die, but that would be for the Horsemen as a total unit. This was
Malenko's first match back, far as I know.
Then, we have Kaz Hayashi being conned by ex-Glacier Ray Lloyd, Sonny Onoo,
& Ernest Miller. Lame. Poor Kaz. Sonny
took advantage of him again. Again, this is Bischoff's fault, because
Sonny's his buddy, and the con game's his idea.
Then, during the last 1/2 hour, I flipped back and forth to MTV's Snowbrawl.
So Brian Adams won, and won clean. Kinda
appropriate, don't you think? Rob Zombie has a future as a play-by-play guy
with some practice, but then he had Larry Z. &
Jimmy Hart backing him up. It worked. Personally, I think one of the MTV
guys could've been the ring announcer instead of
Stuttering John, but who cares?
Think they'll do this again at Spring Break? Long as the workrate improves
and they add some actual matches.
