Michaels vs. Tatanka - Good match. I especially liked them bringing in Luna
(she seems to have put on some weight since the last time I saw her). I was
irritated at the screwjob finish. The ref looked like he was getting his
instructions from the sidelines or something there at the end.
Crush vs. Doink -- I knew it was going to be twin Doinks the moment he
mentioned double vision. My angle on the screen was semi-hosed so I couldn't
tell who the 2nd Doink was. The match itself wasn't too impressive but the
angle was interesting.
Steiners vs. Headshrinkers -- No, I didn't care for this one. It just didn't
look to be worth watching ... so I didn't. I went out to the kitchen for a
little vegemite. Came back to see Scott flub a Frankensteiner. Sigh.
Luger vs. Perfect -- Snooze. Who cares about the loaded elbow! We want to
see the Torture Rack(TM) alread! :)
Hogan/Beefer vs. Ted and Irwin -- Ok, ok, the part with them tossing the
money into the crowd was pretty cool but this match was dumb, annoying,
silly, and any other adverb you care to use. (adjective?) And what's this
garbage about the ref being able to force the champs to return or lose their
titles? I know the rulebook is an ever-changing thing but, geez, c'mon!
Big Boob vs. 'taker -- I still say Mark is one of the better angles the WWWF
has going these days. Gonzales looked as inept and boring as usual. The
chloroform stunt would've looked better had Mark come up whilst still on the
gourney<sp?>. Going all the way back to the curtain was pushing it too far.
Hart vs. Yokozuna (then Hogan) -- I feel for the Bret-man. He got screwed
on this one. 'zuna is an impressive sight but he seems to be a little on the
slow side in selling moves. Bret's SharpShooter (under license from Sting)
on 'zuna looked silly considering the size of 'zunas thighs. The salt was
expected as was the challenge by Fuji. But this crud about Hogan winning the
title after a piddly little leg-drop was stupid -- no, asinine. 'zuna has no
neck so the leg-drop hit his chest which shouldn't have hurt at all.
The only possible way of saving this is either to have Hogan get stripped of
the title and have a tournament during the King of the Ring PPV for it --OR--
have Hogan give Bret a title shot where Bret wins.
Jim Ross was as annoying as usual. Heenan was funny as usual. (Sure got in some
good cracks at Oklahoma and Ross...)
Fincus Maximus? Ok, I can buy it. :)
McMahon was definitely conspicuous by his absence this year. As was Tito S.
Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't there supposed to be a Kamala vs. Bigelow
match on this card? If so, where was it? Who won?
As usual, commentary is invited.
