In one night, he books himself to...

1) Turn heel, stealing all of Kurt Angle's heat

2) Squash the Radicals stable in their first match, and then turn heel
before a rematch could be arranged

3) Turn heel, to get out of doing a job to Angle on the pay-per-view

4) Beat up Austin AND the Rock

I smell another Hogan.

I don't see how this stole Angle's heat...could you explain?

Agreed...I don't know what purpose that whole thing served...

I don't think you can really argue that HHH is motivated by not doing
jobs...he's proven in the past that he'll gladly take a job...so I think
saying this is just plain wrong imho...

> 4) Beat up Austin AND the Rock

Yeah, how shitty on the same night to deface TWO of the top stars by beating
them...it certainly does establish Austin and Rock's place in the pecking
order doesn't it?

I dunno, I somehow get the feeling that while HHH *may* be a booking pain in
the ass, he doesn't show signs of being completely out of touch with reality
like Hogan...if HHH starts pulling Hogan moves that prove to be as
delusional as Hogan's past moves, THEN I'll start to worry, but I think he's
doing okay and rightfully protecting his space that he worked LONG and hard
to achieve...remember HHH spent a LONG time in the Dog House not getting a
push he shoulda had after Nash and Hall left. But, due to his behaviour, he
got held down, and finally has the opportunity to shine after watching
SEVERAL wrestlers take their places ahead of him...so while the behaviour
sucks...if you knew anything about the past between HHH and Vince, then it
somewhat makes sense that he's protecting himself a lot lately...and
righfully so IMHO, after all, Austin didn't come back to become the number
TWO guy in the fed, and there can only be ONE #1 guy...

HHH is now the #1 heel instead of the #1 tweener/character. Angle is now the #2
heel and his feud with HHH loses heat since HHH is primarily in the Austin feud.

HHH could have hinted a heel turn during this match. Otherwise, there was no
purpose. At least someone besides HHH could have gotten the feud. This match
did start to set up a Beniot-Billy G. feud.

I don't know where people get that idea. His jobs all seem to have him coming
out on top.

Add Benoit to this as well.

Yes he did. Rock has the #1 face spot down. Austin can't do anything about
that. He could have been the #1 heel, but HHH ruined that plan.

HHH is a genius.

Well, that totally makes sense...

yeah, whatever happened to that? Is Billy Gunn just such a non heat entity
that the angle was dropped?

Now, that's kinda true...good point...

yeah...true too

I guess, but Rock was taking time off for movies and I thought *THAT* was
supposed to be Austin's time to regain the number one Face spot...

No argument here!

That's why he is an uber heel......

There is that....but I also think a lot of the DX reunion was to
solidify Trip's face turn. He makes up with Billy, comes out to the old
music, does the fan appreciation chop......That's part of what made his
smacking Austin with a sledge hammer so shocking later on.

Agreed.
