Y'know, for how awesome that era bet. 1997 and 2000 was, I'm shocked
that none of those WMs didn't clear at least 1.5 million buys. I'm
guessing it's either the smarts that weren't really into it like they
were 10 years earlier, watching it through teh interwebs, they had
something else to do/wouldn't pay the going rate or all of the above.

Was WM3 on PPV TV, or do those buys include movie theater buys, in
which case you have to take into account the fact that a TV "buy"
counts households while a theater buy counts each person separately?

It's a heck of a way to track the popularity of wrestling, too.
Figuring in the PPVs that got added every year as time went on, of
course.
The trend from 1987 to 1992 basically reflects my memories perfectly
of that time. One can also see it tracking up a bit again in the late
1990s, again figuring in the additional PPVs that were out every
year.
Man, wrestling was uber hot in the 80s though....
