Let me just start off by congratulating Eric Bischoff on a very well
done angle to this point and hope that the ego maniac HH doesn't screw it
up. I have something to say not to everyone here in RSPW but to a
majority of people who were constantly ripping HH and now want to cheer
him on. You are some of the most fickle, mindless, juvenile (as Dusty
Rhodes would put it) walk behinders I have ran into in a very long time.
There are several exceptions, some have legit questions, some provide
good info, and some offer legit opinions but most of the posts here are
just ridiculous and the Hogan angle has brought this to my attention more
than ever. When Hogan bashing was in vogue (which it still was just hours
before last night's great PPV) there were people posting daily on why
they hated Hogan, how he was ruining WCW, how he can't wrestle, how he
refuses to sell opponents best moves, etc. All of which was and still is
true. But some of these same people are now posting crap about how
Hulkamania is back and how much Hogan rules now that he has for once in
his life went along with a WCW storyline that doesn't involve him looking
like the next coming of Jesus. Truth be told, I have never liked HH, and
I still don't. I give him credit for growing up and I admit I have a
little more respect for him this morning than I did last morning. God
knows it had to be tough for Hulk to lose all that merchandising money
and the irreperible damage it has done to his booming movie career,
*LOL*. But to say he is cool again, and to say he rules is just very
ignorant. This guy still hasn't wrestled a decent match in a very long
time and still will probably screw with WCW booking and he is still an
ego maniac. Come on guys, lets grow up here. I had the pleasure of
seeing some posts here along the same lines, it does my heart good
to see some decently intelligent people around here. Don't be fooled,
Hogan will eventually turn face again and somehow I can just see the I
hate Hogan posts now.........

Give us a break. Hogan's ego was huge, he tried to run the entire
promotion, and he acted like a saint when he was juicing. The guy was
worthy of criticism. I suppose if we would have continued to blast him
you would have said, "You guys can never give Hogan any credit!"

Well, I can agree with that!

Hogan was doing all those things. But who knows, maybe the guy has
changed! He obviously changed to agree to become the heel of heels. So
why don't you give the guy a break? Sheesh!

>But some of these same people are now posting crap about how

The gimmick rules and Hogan is part of the gimmick and he should be given
credit for agreeing to it. So what's the beef about that?

I'm sure Terry Bollea is broken hearted.

No, you're ignorant to ignore the fact that this is a great gimmick and
foolish to not give Hogan credit for being a part of it.

So what do you expect of Hogan? You expect him to be a male Cathy Rigby
or Katrina Witt? Get hold of yourself! Hogan became rich by doing things
in a certain way. At least give him credit for willing to stretch! And if
he agreed to be on the heel side, I think that shows he just may not be
as much of an egomaniac as you may think.

Bill Clinton strikes again. If you don't agree with me, you aren't
enlightened.

If Hogan turned tonight, that would be fine. So what? Fact is, Hogan and
Bischoff gave us the show of a lifetime this past Sunday. That's what
people pay for. If Hogan turns back to face, no big deal. Bischoff will
just have to come up with something else to give us a good show. Fact is,
Hogan should turn face again since he is a major PR person as a fan fave.
He will, however, probably stay heel until after his Havoc matchup with
Savage.

I think the Hogan turn brings RSPW more of a sense of relief. Relief
that we don't have to watch Hogan win every match with the hulk up, big
boot and leg drop of doom. Everybody knows that Hogan's never going to
become a better worker, but if it means the end of Hulk's tired old "say
your prayers and eat your vitamins" schtick, it's good for wrestling on
the whole. And since Hogan's now a heel - we get to see him job, or at
least win by screwjob. I can't say that with the heel turn I'm now a
Hogan fan, but I'm curious to see what's going to happen, whereas
before, the thought of watching another Hogan match made me sick to my
stomach. I think much of RSPW feels the same way.

IMHO, the WWF really missed the boat when they brought in the Warrior -
his act is as stale as Hogan's, and his career would have benefitted
greatly from a heel turn. Now it would be dismissed as a desperate
move. Somebody tell Vince that superheroes just don't fly anymore.
Terry Bollea/Eric Bischoff listened to the fans who wanted to see
something other than the same old repetitive crap, and he delivered -
Now we shall see...can the WWF deliver as well?

Actually, I like the angle and give HH and Eric credit for it, the beef
was with people's change of heart about HH.

Agreed! :)

More than a few of these also stated something to the effect of
"I'd have respect for the man if he turned heel"...

(Rest cut.)

Personally, I've always kinda liked Hogan... and Sunday's turn
of events didn't really change that opinion. He's always been fairly
entertaining, in *spite* of scandal and ridicule. His change of face
is kind of refreshing, and it really does a lot to shake things up
and make them more interesting, even beyond the WCW.

Can't really say I've ever been a Hogan fan, and I have my doubts about
whether his workrate/lack of jobbing will improve, but time shall tell.
I will say that I now am a fan of the Hulk Hogan *character* (from a
fictional sense) because it, simply, is the ultimate heel turn. As for
Hogan/Bollea the man... it would take quite a bit for me to respect him,
don't expect it anytime soon.
