Don Cherry's wife Rose passed away this past Sunday of cancer.

Though I am not a religious person, and I don't know if you have to be,
put keep Don and his family in your prayors.

Does anybody have any official confirmation of this? If it is true, then
it is a sad day. Rose Cherry, by all accounts, was revered by "Grapes" and
a hell of a woman to accept his idiosyncrasies. It'll be interesting to
see what happens to "Coach's Corner" after this.

Yes, sadly, it is true. Cherry's Coaches Corner has been cancelled until
next year. (No Grapes in the playoffs? What will we do? Get Steve Austin
and Ron Maclean on the set, dammit!) I send condolences and all the best
to the Cherry family. She was a great woman, I even met her once at a
Don Cherry's resurant in Toronto. She was a wonderful human being. It's
a shame we had to lose her.

It was confirmed on both TSN and the CBC web site....Coach's Corner is
cancelled for the finals....we'll have to wait and see about next
season...

Damn. I can't believe this happened. Seriously. Coach's Corner may be
the only thing that'll keep Don going. Man, this is shocking...

Well this sucks. Even though I didn't know the lady personally, I've only heard
good things about her. I'm sure she'll be missed.

Don Cherry is GOD.

Don Cherry is not involved in professional wrestling.

The above opinions are neither mine nor those of
Northwestern University.

So...neither are you....Cherry has been a hockey mainstay for decades,
and is one of the most recongnizable and loved personalities in
Canada....and his wife passed away, so that's why I brought it out?

Is that alright, sir?

Don Cherry is the most knowledgable hockey broadcaster, and one of the
best coaches to ever grace the game. It saddens me that he is suffering
this personal loss, and the remainder of the Stanley Cup playoffs won't
be the same without him.

However, I talk about professional wrestling on this newsgroup. This newsgroup
is not about hockey, and, despite what you may think from reading it, is not
about Canada.

Bob, no one is blaming you for bringing out this sad news. Steve was just
pointing out that this is not the appropriate newsgroup for this topic.

Point taken.....put Steve did not have to point that out. I was just
passing on to those wrestling fans, who are also hockey fans, that Don's
wife passed.
That's all.

Yeah, so do I.

This newsgroup

Yeah, so? If I decide to post one message about an actual person, that's
up to me.

It's not? Damn. You mean making those "Canada rules RSPW" T-shirts
have just been a waste of my time? This sucks...

What are you talking about Steve? Mom and I were watching you do that last
