What's with the Demolition jokes?
Demolition was a popular tag-team in the WWF in the late 80's and early
90's. At some point (now lost to history), independent wrestler Trevor
Lowe (aka T-LOWE) responded to a post about something that was already
well-known (like 'Hulk Hogan Turns Heel' posted months after Hogan
joined the NWO in 1996) with 'Yeah, did you hear Demolition lost the tag
titles?' This was considered such a witty and insighful response by RSPW
denizens that it has now become a stock reference.
When anyone posts old news or widely-known information as if it were
something new, someone is certain to reply with 'Did you hear Demolition
lost the tag titles?' This has become so entrenched that variants have
started to pop up, for instance 'Ax and Smash (two memebers of
Demolition) are very upset about their recent defeat at the hands of the
Hart Foundation,' or 'Bill Eadie (the man who played Ax) called, he
wants his belt back.' As with all RSPW in-jokes, perhaps one out of
every 10 or 20 of the uses of it is actually funny.

Here's the serious one. Demolition were a tag team in the late 80's in the
old WWF brought in as the WWF's answer to the Road Warriors who were really
popular in NWA/WCW. The two guys were Ax and Smash and they were dressed in
leather and wore face paint like the Road Warriors and despite the obvious
rip off they actually developed a style of their own and won the WWF Tag
titles 3 times with their first reign still the longest in WWF history (a
record that will never be broken now that the WWF is no more.) Eventually,
Ax developed health problems had the WWF didn't want to risk him getting
hurt in the ring so they brought in Crush (Brian Adams) to fill his spot.
Their demise really started when Vince finally got the real Road Warrior to
come to the WWF as the Legion of Doom. Once they arrived they along with
the Ultimate Warrior wrestled Demolition in a series of 6 man matches.
Eventually, Ax left the Fed and Smash and Crush carried on for a short time
but with the LOD in place, they did not last long and eventually split up.
That's the Reader's Digest of the Demolition team. I now turn things over
to the trolling retards to make all their "brilliant" witty comments.
