Hell, I love the guy too... but does anyone have any theories about why
he's so over? I like him because of how he does stuff with seemingly no
explanation behind them (like the Mero and D-Lo attacks), and he's a
pretty good wrestler... the fact that he's Canadian doesn't hurt, either.
H^) But I'm kinda of surprised that he's caught on with the crowds so
quickly, any ideas why? Not that I'm complaining, hopefully this leads to
a huge push...

It's comic book culture. Same reason larger-than-life gimmicks like Undertaker,
Kane, Gangrel, etc get over. They are a great escape for the fans. Austin is
similar in that he does and says what everyone is thinking. Edge is like the
Crow in a way. He lays down his own vigilante justice and doesn't care about
the consequences. It's what WCW did with Sting in the early stages of the NWO
angle. Of course WWF will play it smarter. Edge won't be attacking ONE stable
for 18 months. He will have a wide array of feuds with a wide array of
wrestlers in the next 18 months and he'll actually wrestle. Edge is what Sting
should have been but WCW was too stupid to realize how to utilize a good
gimmick and angle.

I don't need to claim to be the showstopper, or an icon, or even a God.

People are sheep. that's why Goldberg is over, that's why Edge is over. There
is nothing about either of them that makes me show any interest in either of
them.

The announcers say it, the marks buy it.

Edge sits in the stands, wares a trenchcoat, and the announcers say he had a
troubled upbringing. So???
I don't doubt his wrestling ability any more than anyone elses, but the
angle is of no interest to me what so ever. If you think the introduction of
edge isn't a major push in itself,
then I don't what would be.

Go Chris Thomas Go!

Because he reminds us of Chris Jericho, if Chris Jericho played the Raven role.

Edge is nothing like what Raven should be.

Ok, I know Edge looks kinda like Jericho, but I can NOT picture Jericho
playing Raven's role. H^)
