Bischoff had a stroke of brilliance with this angle! Having Scott
Hall come in and make fun of WCW right to their faces is a great way of
getting back at Vince and his WCW bashing. Since Hall is bashing WCW in front
of WCW fans, that makes him get over well as a heel. By having him refer to
Billionare Ted, Nacho Man, and Scheme Gene, Eric is using Vince's own bash
for his own benefit! Since having Hall getting over as a mega-heel will make
drawing power, that just gives some success to Eric, using Vince's own slams!
By the way, notice that Hall never mentioned Hukster? That's a good way of
telling it's definitely not a shoot.

Just my thoughts,

The great thing is that in the great thread of 96 (Schlesinger/John
Williams) one of them mentioned that bringing in Tenryu as an outsider to
New Japan was the booking scheme that WCW should follow, and low and
behold they did.

This works how? I don't think this has anything to do with an actual
attempt to make Titan look bad. Yet.

So what happens when the majority of fans (or at least an appreciable
minority) are cheering for him?

Again, I don't see it. I think this is all an incredibly ballsy
angle for WCW, but not a stroke of genius or anything resembling
creativity. It is realistic, playing off the only thing wrestling
fans still believe: that the different companies hate each other.
There is no great, ingenius ploy to turn Vince's work against him.
Just a big set of cajones.

I'll dissect it all in another post... but think about it: what,
exactly, has Bischoff or WCW done that is in anyway creative?
They've taken Scott Hall's WWF character and stolen it; they've
taken the one thing any moron could determine is the only thing
the majority of wrestling fans believe in; and they've turned
it into an angle. Not creative, just gutsy.

Again, I question whether you are right about how this will play
out. I don't think WCW has the kind of "hardcore" wrestling fan
support you think they do. I think they've got a whole load
of casual viewers who are not "loyal" to WCW. When those casual
fans see a familiar face who they are used to cheering (Razor,
Diesel, and whoever the third is), a lot won't care about the
"federation superiority" angle, and will just cheer for who
they like more. Won't it be terribly ironic if the whole thing
backfires, and Bischoff's "angle of the year" ends up with
a big PPV match with a crowd that is more than half cheering
for Hall, Nash, and ??? over Hogan, Savage, and Sting?

Later....

It will soon, I have to agree with you there Rick. I have a feeling Bischoff may get in
trouble for this in the longrun.

I was! Hall saved what I thought was a pitiful Nitro! When Hall, Nash, and ??? come in
to job a majority of the non-marks will be cheering them on and not the WCW "stars".

And there probably going to do the same to the other two, notice how they didn't even
mention Hall's name! They may just use the character, just with either their real name
or just no name at all! Besides, isn't Razor's character copyrighted? Bischoff is
taking a real risk with this, in the longrun, IMO he's going to get into a lot of
trouble!

I'd love to see that! Eric could be giving the WWF more viewers. Not many people in my
school have never even heard of WCW! Not many WCW fans in my area! And besides, I
think that the angle will get pretty old and very fast!

This is all my own opinion. I do think the angle is good, but Rick made his point VERY
well! Eric made a big risk and he could ruin the angle with ease! I think Bischoff, in
the longrun, is going to lose some viewers and help out the WWF! If he does this again
next week, nobody's going to react like they did! And if he puts on pitiful matches
again, Raw's going to win! In fact, I'm going to go out and make a prediction that by
next tuesday the angle will be old and that most non-marks won't care anymore!

I don't think so. Bischoff just made matters worse. Just when both feds
were getting back to wrestlign and non-insulting of each other, Bischoff had
to ruin it with yet another in a long line of "let's insult the fans with
the next angle" angle.

Lest we forget that WCW bashed WWF for quite somtime.

This angle could backfire on Bischoff as all McMahon has to say is "Mr. Hall
is not employeed by the WWF."

What will happen in the end is that Hall and Nash (who is the other person in
the "We" catagory that Bischoff wanted to know) will job to Hogan and The Son
Andre Never Had.

It should be obvious what will happen. Razor, Diesel ,and one other former WWF
guy will be destroyed by 3 WCW guys and Eric will say "I Guess IS where the
Big Boys Play!!!" Although, Vince can save his ass. All he has to do is say
the Razor, Diesel and #3 were all fired or something, and they do NOT work for
WWF.

Was it me, or did Scott have absolutely zero heat when he came out during
the match.

If you own a dss sattelite system and you paid for IYH on sunday you
just blew 20$.
It's on right now on my dss system and I did'nt even buy it the first
time around.
Oh boy I get wwf ppv free, guess what ECW will be on in a minute I
think id rather watch that.
So anyone who has a dss sattelite system needs to call direct tv and
get a full refund since they are now showing the 10:30 IYH replay to
everyone free of charge. God this Shawn angle sucks alienation of
affection what a joke.

IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, DON'T WATCH IT, YOU PRICK.

It's a weak angle, though, I admit... :(
