Demolition did a Pizza Hut commercial once

Dusty Rhodes used to do commercials for local sponsors:
A Ford Dealer, Skoal Tabacco, Stanback Headache Powders

George Steele was in a magazine ad for some computer IBM I
think.

Hillbilly Festus and Samuel Kent used to do commericals
for Papa's Country Kitchen on Buford Hwy.

Demolition (Eadie and Darsow) appeared in a commercial promoting
Pizza Hut's Nickelodean kids meal. The commercial was a part of a series
telling kids what to do if their parents wouldn't take them out to PH. In
this ad, the doorbell rings, kid opens the door, and Demolition do their
shtick (screaming, Darsow sticks out his tongue). Pretty funny.

Dusty Rhodes did a commercial for Mello Yello soda back in 1986 or
1987 that used to air on TBS ALL THE TIME.

Paul Orndorff appeared in a commercial for the Hulk Hogan
Children's WorkOut kit in 1986-1987. This, despite the fact that Orndorff
was feuding with Hogan at the time the ads aired. The commercials started
airing (at least where I lived) after the Orndorff heel turn.

How about those Pizza Inn comercials that aired in Texas starring the Von
Erich brothers? I have one of these on tape, and the sound of them
singing ("For pizza out, it's Pizza Inn, yeah!") is enough to make Steve

I think Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff were in a Chunky soup commercial, where
they fight over whether to eat it with a fork or a spoon.

Recently, when I had absolutely nothing better to do, I began to
think about all the TV commercials starring wrestlers that I have seen
in my entire lifetime. (Yes, my life is THAT interesting!) Here's some
of the ones I managed to remember........

1) Hulk Hogan in a Honey Nut Cheerios commercial: HH is about to kick the
Bee's ass, but the Bee tries the famous "tempt your tummy" finisher.
(Which is as predictable as the punch, punch, whip, big boot, legdrop
of doom sequence) Then the unthinkable happens: HOGAN FINALLY JOBS!!!
He eats the HNC's, and the Bee Wins! The Bee wins! The Bee wins!
2) Andre's commercial for Honeycomb cereal: The funny thing about this was
that they had to dub Andre's voice with a clearer, yet Andre-like voice,
something they should've done for.......
3) The Ultimate Warrior for Slim Jim: I don't care what anyone thinks; this was
the best SJ wrestler commercial, mostly because it was hilarious to see
UW butcher the English language.

4) Macho Man and Diesel's Slim Jim commercials.
5) All those Roos shoes (the sneakers with those pockets) ads with the WCW
wrestlers from 1990. There was Lex Luger, Sting (he KO's an inflatable shark
while surfing), Rick Steiner (he pisses on a fire hydrant or something),
and the Road Warriors (funny because they mentioned the word "Demolition"
in in)

6) Macho Man made a cameo in some Rubik's Cube commercial way back when.
7) Bam Bam Bigelow was in a Wendy's Kids' Meal commercial, where he let
some other wrestler headlock him, while the voice over sings, "Can't be
a queen, or Mr. Mean...Wendy's Kids' Meals are just for kids!"

8) King Kong Bundy for that computer whats-its-name.

Anyone got any more to add to my list? Maybe some comments on the ones I
listed?

fast pain relief; it work then, and it work now." "I know about pain'

Rhodes also did a Mello Yello commercial a few years back.

Hogan did a spot for a deodorant a while back, painting on a secluded
beach, he talked about "odiferous emminations". Too bad the stuff didn't
work, 'cause he still stinks.

Stan Stasiak did one for a haberdasher in Atlanta, with the tag line "If
they can fit me, they can fit anybody". Probably before you were born.

There was a watch commercial recently featuring 6 burly guys singing "This
little light of mine". Two of those boys looked suspiciously like the
Steiners.

Ric Flair did a campaign commercial for Reagan (or was it Bush?) in North
Carolina. Johnny Weaver campaigned for Jesse Helms <boo-hiss> with the
tagline "Let's re-elect Jesse, a dedicated Christian".

Paul Jones and Rick Steamboat did spots for the N.C. United Way.

I beleive Orndorff also appeard in another commercial. I can not remember

I've got to add a couple here - these are local commercials, so they
didn't get as big of viewerships as the regional/national ads, but
they're worth mentioning....

1. While Warrior was still wrestling in the WCCW as the "Dingo"
Warrior, he had some absolutely *hilarious* commercials for a local
Ford dealership. You think his interview spots are humorous now? Try
seeing him in some segments with a character called Joe Greed- some of
these spots were absoulutely surreal.

Boris "The Great" Malenko did a commercial in the mid-'70s for a Tampa

spun (spinned?) a mattress in the Tampa Sportatorium (where they filmed

Ludvig Borga was a lumberjack in some non-alcoholic beer commercial.
Also he was a doorman in Van Dammes movie Lionheart.

I read this entire thread!!!

Here is a new one! When Superstar Billy Grahan had his "hip
operation", it was strange to see that commercial about a sneaker where
this wrestler was jumping from the top rope onto the camera POV.

That was Superstar Billy Graham. (circa 1988)

Also there were many promos for Lyle Alzado's TV show "Learning the
Ropes" which DID star The Road Warriors (I own the 3 second clip with
them).

Lex Luger was in an episode of Superboy and the promo for it ran on TBS
in 1988. I WISH I caught the show to own. DAMMIT!!!!!

That was a priceless commercial (I'm looking for it on tape). I also have the
Von Erich brothers (Kevin, Kerry & Mike) doing several commercials for Pizza
Inn, a local buffet chain.

Currently, there is a series of commercials (I've seen three), with five big
guys singing off-key Christmas carol parodies for Oshman's sporting goods.
I swear that the middle guy in the back row is Tony Halme, better known as
Ludwig Borga in the WWF a couple of years ago. He even sings in the accent
that he had as Borga. Since I don't know how large a chain Oshman's is, I don't
know if anyone else is getting to see these. I'll try to tape some of them,
because they are really funny.

Big Quebec and indie star Jos Leduc, whose gimmick was that of a
French-Canadian lumberjack, did an Oh Henry chocolate bar commercial a
few years ago in Quebec.
Commercial had him sitting on the end of a teeter-totter, the other end up in
the air, and somebody puts the bar on the other end and Jos goes up. He keeps
saying throughout, "It's the big chunk of fudge..."

Anyone remember that one?

Also, in Detroit a few years back, the late Dick the Bruiser did some
excellent commercials for a hard rock radio station. I also believe
he may have had is own program on that station. Anyway, the best of
those commercials started by showing some wimp disco dancing in a white
suit, when suddenly the Bruiser breaks through the paper backdrop, throws
the wimp dancer to the floor, and walks toward the camera, telling the
viewer about the "real music" played on the station. I certainly miss the
Bruiser now that he is dead - there will never be another voice like his.

About a year ago Timex indiglo watches had a commercial with about six guys
singing "This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine." I could of swore
one of those guys was Tony Atlas. Two of the other guys looked like ICW
wrestlers, I did not see the ICW very often so I can not remember their names,
has anyone else seen this commercial, was it indeed Tony Atlas?

There were a few local (Minneapolis) ads they showed snippets of on the
AWA show, for Nord automobile dealerships. The wrestler on the spots,
natch, was John Nord the Barbarian. He did some nasty moves on some guy
on one of the cars, like powerslam him through a windshield (hopefully
breakaway glass), suplex him, and piledrive him on the hood.

Yup. It was Absorbine Jr. They had him rubbing the stuff in and then
resuming his "job" as Atlas, carrying the world on his shoulders. I first saw
it soon after his first face turn in the WWF after WrestleMania I.

Some of the wrestling commercials I have seen involve:

Diesel, Macho Man and Ultimate Warrior (at one time or another) hawking
Slim Jim.

Bruno Sammartino in a commercial as a greeter in an Atlantic City casino.

Hulk Hogan with the Cheerios Bee for Honey Nut Cheerios.

George The Animal Steel for a line of computers.

Macho Man again in a commercial for Rubik's Revenge (a larger version of
Rubik's Cube).

Ric Flair in a promotion for TBS - he bodyslams somebody, then he makes
the signal for TBS (I forgot what the signal was), then goes WHooo.

I remember the Ultimate Warrior in a Slim Jims commercial.
He was also in the commercial for the WWF Action Figures, with the Big
Boss Man I think.
Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig was in a commerical for a local Chevrolet Dealer,
although he didn't use the Mr. Perfect persona.
Also, the One Man Gang was in a commercial for a used car dealer in
Mississippi a few years back.
