MABEL: Why?: Since they are unable to give Hall and Nash names yet, it
would make sense for the third man to be someone who could be nameless,
but physically overwhelming (even if overwhelmingly FAT!!!). You would
have these two men and THIS HUGE MONSTER!!!!
Why Not?: Its been said that he does not get along with
Nash. Its been rumored that he will return with Mo again in WCW.
Possibility: Very Likely. It would be a let down after the
man that dominated the WWF in 1995, and the most prolific WWF IC Champ of
all-time. But since WCW is not allowed to capitalize on these accalaids.
The fat man is a possiblity.

LEX LUGER: Why?: This would be a major surprise to the marks. It would set
up a good feud with Savage and him and Sting. Convenient that they lost
the tag straps in time for this event. And probably the biggest reason is
that it would allow for the Sting, Savage team to lose, for Hall and Nash
to still be legit title contenders, not having jobbed, or make way for a
Hogan rescue that would be very Bischoff-esque.
Why Not?: Its been rumored on this newsgroup ever
since the feud started. IMO Lugers a better face than heel. And the spy
angle would not go over. THis isnt the CIA this is professional wrestling.
Possibility: Probably the greatest of all the
candidates. We wont be surprised but the marks will be and this incident
alone will get Luger over as a heel.

JEFF JARRETT: Why? Vince said so. He's not wrestling in the WWF right now.
I cant think of any other reasons?
Why Not? He reportedly cant start till October.
He would be a letdown. I just cant picture him next to Nash and Hall as
teammates.
Possibility: There definitely is one. Whether or
not it is likely I'm not sure.

Other less likely candidates:
BRET HART: Why? The only guy that would not be a let-down. Does anybody
really know what hes doing right now? Why Not? He reportedly already
turned them down. Supposed to back in WWF in Survivor Series. Possibility:
Not Very Likely, taking the summer off, I guess he deserves it. The more
hes away the more I actually appreciate him as a talent and look forward
to his comeback.

THE 1-2-3 KID:Why? Rumors he wants to get fired from the WWF (Why doent he
just quit?). That whole BIG mang, MEDIUM-SIZED mang, LITTLE mang thing.
Rumors that he will be in WCW very soon. Why Not? Would anybody care if he
was it? The conflicting rumors that he wants to come back but cant due to
his concussions. Possibility: I would disappointedly surprised if he was
it. He's the one guy that I could see jobbing as much he would have to if
he was on the team.

Roll Call of "stretches": Savage, Why?. Sting, NO, Flair, NO, DDP, its a
thought but since there hasnt been even a hint of the Diamond Mine, i'm
not gonna bet the house. Douglas, WHATS THE POINT?, Glacier DOUBT IT.

Anybody else would be a bigger surprise than McMahon himself coming out to
wrestle for the outsiders (Hmmm, maybe VK WallStreet?)

Anybody I miss or any reasons I missed post or e-mail me. Thanks

This is a question noone seems to have asked. Why would Vince go
on America On-Line and wherever else he has gone and say that
Jeff Jarrett is the number three man knowing full well that Jarrett
is still under contract with the WhiFF. Isn't that sort of like
implying that the WWF is involved????

Wow. I must say that until your post I never thought of DDP. However, it
has been said that no one knows who his backer is. How about DiBiasi and
the WWF team?

Just a thought

Why are you not even considering Hogan as the 3rd man? According to
Saturday's update on the MiCASA Pro-Wrestling News he is the one that the
head honchos at WCW want it to be. Whether they can convince Hogan to do
it is another story.

Let Hogan be the 3rd member. That way we can have it where Luger can take
himself out of the match for whatever reason, & replace himself with the
ULLLLLTIMATE replacement. Then the stage could be set for the
ULLLLLLTIMATE REMATCH.
Hey, anything's possible.

I've been told that WCW has already chosen the third guy and that
they're not letting anyone in on who it is. What they are saying is
that it's not going to be Mable, Tatanka, or any of those guys. This
really only leaves two choices, one being Hogan and the other being
Luger.

If it ever turns out to be Hogan, I will take back everything, well almost
everything, I have ever said about Bischoff. But if ifs and buts were
candy and nuts, every day would be Christmas. And sadly, it won't be
snowing in Daytona Sunday night.

It could also mean Savage. My money's on him.

Yes, everybody and their grandmother thinks Luger is the man, but I have
my doubts. First, given Bischoff's recent flair for the unexpected like
McMichael as a Horseman or DDP as "King, uh excuse me Mean Gene, it's Lord
Of The Ring", he may want someone more shocking than Luger. Besides, I
don't think the marks will be surprised because WCW has been hinting a
possible Luger heal turn ever since he came back to WCW. Second, WCW has a
big shortage of top-level faces to compete against all the big name heels
they have (like Giant, Sullivan, The Horseman, and now "The Outsiders").
WCW needs Luger to stay a face, at least till Hogan gets back.

Why not? Cause Vince said so. Your other points are good too.

I don't know, gut feel here says he's not the one. But wouldn't things
become really interesting if it was?

On paper, sounds like a good possibility, but every time his name is
mentioned somebody brings up that contract thing...

Savage? no. If Bischoff was going to use the traitor angle here he'd do it
with Luger or DDP. Sting? I'll send Bischoff a get well card if he can
pull that one off. Flair? The Horsemen are going over way too well to
break them up now. DDP? A better chance than most others mentioned.
Douglas? I agree, why? Glacier? Likely destined for something else.

For that matter, why not Duggan?

Good list, but I got one to add:

YOKOZUNA: Why? List seen on RAW talking about a change. Went over much
better as a heel than as a face. Currently not wrestling (at least not on
TV). Weight problem could be causing a rift between him and McMahon. IMO,
Bischoff wants him bad. Why not? May still be under contract with WWF.
Possibility: My dark horse candidate. Ever notice how often Bischoff
mentions him by name during Nitro broadcasts, usually during Luger
matches? And he doesn't use terms like "Yokotuna", or "Yukozuna", or "the
fat Samoan pretending to be Japanese," like he does with some other WWF
wrestlers. He talks about him with a degree of respect, using him to brag
about Luger usually. I suspect Yokozuna may be pretty high on Bischoff's
wish list, and there may not be a better time to get him. After all, it's
hard to talk about WCW being "where the big boys play" when the biggest
boy plays for somebody else. It's a long shot it admit, but I wouldn't be
surprised....

As for Hogan being the third man, it sounds like a collective pipe dream
to me. This is the Hulkster we're talking about here right? The only time
he was a heel was when no one knew who he was.
