Four words... DON'T... BELIEVE... THE... HYPE... And I know this is off-topic
but I felt I had to address this very serious situation... There are certain
moments in life where you witness an event and your whole entire perspective of
the world changes in a heartbeat... And now that I have seen the Blair Witch
Project, everytime I walk near a movie theater... my heart skips a few beats...
It's gonna be a long time before I go back to the movies... This was the WORST
MOVIE EVER!!! You know I actually took out time from making my first ROCK
compilation tape to watch this piece of crap??? Well, in the movie's defense, I
missed the beginning and walked into the theatre the night before the moronic
kids find the pile of rocks near their tent and start freaking out... YES,
folks they find a pile of rocks and starting running for their lives... SCARY
SCARY SHIT!!! And what's even funnier is that this movie is rated R, but the
only gorey shit that I saw was a few bloody fingers and a tongue (I think)...
This movie should have been rated G... I've seen scarier shit in my stool...
Come on... And I really expected much more from this movie... My friend almost
killed me for dragging him to see it... Every few minutes he would say, "Let's
just leave..." And I would say no because I knew the first second I leave, then
all of the good shit starts happening... But nothing... Even the end had no
kind of climax or scary face... ANYTHING!!! ANYTHING IS MUCH SCARIER THAN
NOTHING!!! And when I saw "THE END", I just sat there and said, "WHAT???" As
the credits rolled, my mouth just dropped open as I stood there in shock...
Meanwhile, my friend who is still concious asks a girl behind us just what the
HELL is going on... And then I see the copyright and it says "1999"... Then I
realize that this is THE WORST MOVIE EVER!!! To make a movie this bad in 1999
is almost unbelievable... It doesn't even look like a real movie... Now I
understand they try to make it as realistic as possible like watching a home
movie, but this technique fails because you can barely see just what the hell
is going on... The fact of the matter is that this movie was more funny than
scary... and could these kids be any whiter??? Every sentence ended with "man"
or "dude"...

"You hear that, dude???"

"Yeah dude, let's run!!!"

That's basically the whole movie right there... Thank GOD, I didn't pay to see
it and I still wanted a refund or some sort... If you want to see a very funny
movie then go watch it... BUT, if you are expecting the supposedly "scariest
movie in years", then stay your ass home and watch Barney or something because
that is much much MUCH scarier...

Purple smiley fat dinosaurs freak me out... That and clowns... I HATE CLOWNS...

G R E A T O N E Q U O T E S - - - >

"THE ROCK is without a shadow of a doubt the BEST DAMN WWF Champ there ever
was..."

"THE ROCK is feelin good and HE's damn sure lookin good..."

"THE ROCK has got a very big hand, ha and you know what that means... That
means HE's gonna lay the smack down on ya whenever HE damn well pleases!!!"

NEVER SAY THE ROCK'S NAME IN VAIN!!!

STOP JOBBING THE ROCK DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ever covers a lot of ground Danger. I feel you otherwise, but it isn't
nearly as bad as Lost World or Batman and Robin, just off the top of my
head.

uh, scary movies have nothing to do with blood and guts or scary faces. scary
movies are a state of mind. "blair witch", it's true, is not that scary in a
cut 'em up gorefest type way. in a psychological sense, though, it's
captivating and very involved. Possibly the best movie I've seen the in the

It's too bad when some people can't appreciate a good, unique film.

Then need the typical hollywood glitz, gore, action to enjoy.

Just so you know, you're in the minority - check the reviews and newsgroups.

Actually, there are as many people who have seen it that say it sucks as
there are who liked it. I, for one, think it sucks.

Well, I personally enjoyed the show. If you missed the beginning, then you
missed almost the entire plot, and what you saw were just some people out there
in the woods. That's all.
If you had seen the beginning, which lays the groundwork for the rest of the
movie, then you would have understood the suspense so much more.
Also, I have found (not to be forthright) that a lot of people who have
disliked the Blair Witch Project thought it stunk because it had no gore and no
fancy lines. Um...that's the idea. It's the perfect antithesis to the sorry
status of film out there now, where buxom blondes get chased around by some
average looking guy (or ghost) and delivers all of their lines in perfect
english.
What made the Blair Witch Project a good movie was its realism. Things did
indeed go bump in the dark, and by the third night, the remaining two people
were shitting themselves without even hearing a sound. The whole movie is
glaringly honest in it's realism. The same thing with the language. I find
most movies totally ridiculous in dialogue. Try closing your eyes during a
show and listen to the voices without watching the action. They sound so fake
and ridiculous.
I wouldn't say that the Blair Witch Project is a horror movie, but it does have
it's creepy moments. Just because you missed the beginning of the film (which
explained the legend of the Witch, why they were out in the woods, the murders
that occured in the woods, and so many other things that contained the thread
that ran through the movire) and have been watching stereotypical movies for
far too long, it does not mean you should say it was the worst film ever. If
you ask me, the worst film seems to released every week, straight out of the
bowels of Hollywood, replacing the previous one.
I for one, intend to see the Blair Witch Project again...there are too many
nuances to capture in one viewing.

There are three good parts:

1. The night they are chased out of the tent. It sounds like little
children laughing which was pretty freaky.

2. The "part" in the bundle of twigs. Everyone complains about not knowing
what the part is, but just the fact that this scene is so talked about is
what makes it so great. Everyone's imagination runs wild. I've heard that
its a finger, a tongue, an eye, and genitals.

3. The end. Sure it makes no sense, but it makes you think! Again, its
like #2, it works on your imagination.

However, I agree mostly with Dange. BWP is a big hype machine. WAY too
much of the movie is spent on them walking around. Also, the rock and stick
scenes were just not scary.

A cool idea, but not the best execution.

Does anyone else think this had one of the most anti-clamatic ending's ever
for a movie? Also, who says a witch can't show up during the day? I thought
that was just for vampires. In the movie's defense though, I'm glad they
didn't actually ever show the ghost. Anything they could have made up would
have been much worse than leaving it to your imagination. I think that most of
the people that said they thought the movie sucked would be scared to death if
they were in the woods and they started hearing those sounds. The scariest or
worst movie ever? I've seen worse, but I don't think it lived up to all the
hype either.

What didn't make any sense about it? It made perfect sense to me and the rest
of the people I talked to after the movie was over with....

>WAY too
>much of the movie is spent on them walking around.

Well, it has it's focus on realism. If there hadn't been them walking around,
especially towards the third day, it would've foiled the sense of dread that
builds up in the viewer. Someone pointed out that the witch should've haunted
during the day, but that would've ruined it. The movie was all about the
viewers' sense of dread, and everyone in the theatre knew that when the sun
went down, some bad shit was going to start happening. That's one of the
essential elements of it's creepiness.

Also, the rock and stick

They weren't meant to be. Again, the sense of dread, and the creepiness.

Perhaps that was the freakiest part of the film, especially when little fists
starting pounding the tent from the outside.

The movie isn't scary in ANY sense! Just because they don;t show what's going

Well, which enthralling depiction "scared" you the most. The two guys fishing?
Oohhh, a creepy gray floating thing. The lady with the kid? Yeah, two dead
hunters, whatever. Crazy Mary? Oh help me, a hairy lady flashed her. The only
story that made any sense was the baby-killing guy, since that tied into the
end. And if this story, or myth or whatever was bad enough for the town to

these 3 morons? Bad movie. If this is the "new direction" of horror movies,
then I vote for the same old Freddy and Jason crap. At least they scared me

Again, Indy films are just as bad as Big Time Hollywood Schlock(TM), and every
Indy director is trying to get to Hollywood anyway...Too many nuances? Fo you
mean the piles of rocks or the twigs? Ohhh, maybe the ultra-intriging "I kicked
the Map" scene, that one's a keeper. OR do you want to see the kid standing in
the corner while the girl gets killed, I mean drops her camera, because it
"ties the whole thing in nicely" What a bunch of crap.

Crap is crap and this movie is shittier than one of the port-a-potties at
Woodstock '99. I may have to go see "Deep Blue Sea," it'll probably seem

You must not hang out with college age white people very much.

I really think that if you show up 20 minutes into a 90 minute film...then you
have no right to write any sort of review. You missed all of the backstory, and
that is what made things like the sticks and the rock piles significant and
genuinely creepy. Not to mention that the ending would have made perfect sense
if you had seen the beginning. I actually think this was the best horror movie
I've ever seen since the first Halloween. Sure, they're two different types of
movies...but they are the only two movies to make me think twice about
sleeping. To each his own I guess....but this was in no way the worst movie of

The beginning, if you had paid attention, tells you the significance of :
1) the stones in the woods :
2) why there were 7 piles of them
3) what would happen if you disturbed the stones
4) The significance of the house in the woods
5) The methods of murder employed by said serial killer of the 1940's.
6) The belief of the local townsfolk that what was going on was real...
7) Coffin Rock
and
8) The correlation of the witch and the serial killer....and the children.

Seems like a lot of info to me.

>I disliked it because NOTHING HAPPENS, a major fucking plot point is that
>they

It's called 'getting lost' which is real. It would happen to me or you. Their
reactions also serve to display their growing hysteria and frustrations. And
besides, the whole time of day seens add up to very little screen time.

><<What made the Blair Witch Project a good movie was its realism.>>
>
>If realism means boring, then I guess you have a point there...

Perhaps the most realistic thing about the movie is the audience's reaction to
it. Those who went in expecting to be spoonfed everything was disappointed,
and those who wanted to pay attention were pleasantly surprised. Just like
real life.

>Oh yeah, have some people yell "What the fuck was that man!" and the dialouge
>is somehow "real." The characters sucked, just like the rest of the movie.
>

You go watch any other movie out now and tell me the dialogue is more
realistic. Care to try Wild Wild West? Deep Blue Sea? What makes the above
quote realistic is that anyone would've said it under such circumstances. You,
me, and nearly anyone else. Which is a lot more realistic than half of the
trash out there now.

>Yeah...the beginning does so much. We're supposed to get to know the
>characters, so it's harder for us to deal with their trials and

Actually, you're not supposed to know too much about the characters...just the
basics.

>fishing?
>Oohhh, a creepy gray floating thing. The lady with the kid? Yeah, two dead
>hunters, whatever. Crazy Mary? Oh help me, a hairy lady flashed her.

Again, there were not any frightening parts at the beginning, and the spooks
didn't really occur until the second night in the movie. Stop being a dimwit.

>And if this story, or myth or whatever was bad enough for the town to
>change it;s name, why would the townsfolk be so open to talk about it with
>these 3 morons?

It wasn't bad enough to change its name, but rather the notoriety of being home
to serial killer prompted the change. Again, pay attention. And people talk
when asked...you can go knock on the door of any one who lived near or knew of
a mass murderer and get thoughts and history about it. Re : the recent Atlanta
slayings.

>And just because you "think" you are supporting
>out-of-the-mainstream flim makers doesn;t mean you should call every piece of

Actually, I really dislike many independent films, and do my best to avoid it.
I expected the same of the BWP. The last movies I saw that were good that
would be considered 'independent' would be "Life is Beautiful" and "Night of
the Living Dead." As you can tell, I watch indy movies allllll the time.
<sigh>

BWP never claimed to be Shakespearean. And if you went into the film expecting
that much, and expecting it to be a special effects extravaganza, then you
already had formed opinions about it. Just like real life.

What you seem to forget is that when something is 'new' or 'cutting edge' it
doesn't mean it is the first of it's kind. Even considering the two films,
which similarity to BWP is tenous at best, what makes BWP 'new' or 'cutting
edge' is that they took this shared formula and made it interesting and
entertaining (at least in the minds of many). Originality exists in the fact
that they took this technique and did something to it to make it get this far.
Therein lies the 'new' and 'cutting edge' statements you hear bandied about.

And this changes my opinion??? Just because someone else thinks it's good,
doesn't mean I must follow... Also, just because I say it's bad, doesn't mean
you shouldn't watch it... I just gave my own opinion on the movie... Also, it
must be known that I missed the beginning... Maybe, if I saw the whole movie I
would have thought otherwise...

Legends are passed down from generation to generation, and every
person twists the legend every which way. One of my friends pointed
out that the movie was sort of a combo of the different stories
different people were telling. The different stories was just another
element of realism.

Are you saying that the only thing worth an R rating is blood and

You're not supposed to see what is going on, dammit! You're supposed

what the filmmakers knew. You're supposed to use your fucking

Fuck clowns...go see The Blair Witch Project.

It's all about realism, and it's all about using your imagination.
This movie was so *real,* it wasn't even funny. Everyone had a
realistic angle. Everyone had realistic dialogue (they cut out all of
the corny shit...it's still in the "director's cut" though).

In addition, the movie was very open to interpretation. The
filmmakers left so many blanks for you to fill in. Instead of making
a regular old horror movie where we knew everything that was about to
happen, they made a movie where WE DIDN'T KNOW SHIT, and we are
supposed to fill in the blanks ourselves. That makes a good movie,
not this formula horror shit that we're all used to.

Bottom line is this. You want blood, if you want to see guts, if you
want to be spoon fed everything, go see any of the other "horror"
movies that deliver this.
If you want to be psychologically freaked out, if you want a movie
that will not fill in the blanks for you, if you want a movie that
will make you use your imagination, then go see The Blair Witch
Project.

The Blair Witch Project was the best horror movie EVER, and I will
defend that argument to the grave.

Probably... that's why I wrote that first in my review... Also, that is the
only defense I have for the movie... Maybe, if I would have saw the beginning,
my review would have been different...

>Also, I have found (not to be forthright) that a lot of people who have

I wasn't exactly looking for gore or catchphrases BUT, I was expecting more
than just a pile of rocks... And the dialogue, realistic as it may be, was just
annoying... At first, I laughed at it but after awhile you just wanted to
scream at the the screen, "SHUT THE HELL UP!!!"

That's old and tired too, but I have never seen a present-day horror movie
where all of the actors speak perfect english...

>What made the Blair Witch Project a good movie was its realism.

Like I said before, movies are better when they are as fake as they wanna be...
Movies aren't supposed to be like real life... (That's why it's a movie!) Sure,
you're supposed to believe what is happening but it's should be too
realistic...

>Things did
>indeed go bump in the dark, and by the third night, the remaining two people
>were shitting themselves without even hearing a sound.

But I need something to be scared about... I need an image... Sure, the unknown
darkness can be frightening but after watching 20 mins of it, the scare factor
fades away... I mean, after a while you start yelling at the screen, "WHAT THE
HELL ARE YOU BITCHES SCARED AT???" A pile of rocks??? I just didn't buy that as
terriffying... I heard that this movie was so scary it was disturbing... much
like the original "Night of the Living Dead" was... but to me it absolutely
wasn't...

Missing the beginning is a factor (it shouldn't be but it is) but the reason
why I considering the worst is because in 1999 I shouldn't be complaining about
horrible LIGHTING... In 1999, I shouldn't be complaining about bad
photography... In 1999, I shouldn't be complaining about bad sound quality...
In 1999, I shouldn't be complaining about all of these technical aspects that
you EXPECT in any regular movie... Sure, they tried to make the movie like this
to make it as realistic as possible... but to me it didn't work... Nice idea
but it just didn't work IMO...

>I for one, intend to see the Blair Witch Project again...there are too many

I MUST wait until it comes on cable or something because I don't think I can
watch it again in the theaters... I need some time away from it and watching it
again could be like "crappy movie OVERLOAD!!!" and I might lose it and kill
everyone in the movie theater...

Bad sentence pairing on my part... But in a rated R movie, I am expecting

No but I thought at the end, some hillbilly guy would come out and smile or

In the beginning of the film they interview a man who tells about a child
murderer in the town during the 1940's. He kidnapped 7 children and took them
to his cabin the woods and killed them in the cellar. He killed them two at a
time, making one face the corner as he killed the other, since he couldn't
stand being looked at while he did it. Thats why the stones are significant.
They originally find 7 piles. 7 piles...7 kids. They then find 3 outside their
tent the next day...representing them. The end scene is supposed to mirror the
modus operandi of the child killer....Heather is killed as Mike is forced to
face the corner. Maybe it makes more sense now...

I don't like it BECAUSE it was different, but certainly refreshing to
see someone come up with something that isn't just a rehash of another
movie (which seems everything is nowadays).

Lighting was fine in the movie - of course the dark scenes are meant
to be dark.

As for your opinion... look at the thread title.

Maybe 'I missed the beginning, but I don't like what I saw' would have
been a more realistic title.

Hey Zipp, maybe you have been taking too many long trips to deserted forests...
Anyway, maybe I should see the whole movie before I pass judgment on it... I
agree that the whole "slasher" type horror movie is played out and I thought
that this movie would be different and it was but it still SUCKED to me... Very
disappointing but maybe I need to see the whole thing...

Oh...there was also a TV movie that came out a few years ago, Without
Warning. It was a movie made to look like a breaking news story about
an alien invasion. It was a homage to War of the Worlds, and hundreds
of people thought it was real, despite the fact that TONS of

You're correct on that account, but in this case, being different is
what made this movie good.

Another thing I liked about the movie (but failed to mention) was the
fact that it had an "anti-ending." There was no "happily ever after."
I have been waiting for YEARS for a movie to come along like this (I
even wrote my English final on the subject...got an A on the paper),
and I was happy to see BWP deliver.

It still doesn;t help the film any, I knew all of this and it was still
boring...the 7 and 7 thing and the whole ending was cheap, and could be found
in any movie. But somehow since everyone's been told that this is some brand
new, cutting edge movie, it's completely NEW and AMAZING!

Like another post said: It's a good idea, but pulled off horribly.

person twists the legend every which way. One of my friends pointed
out that the movie was sort of a combo of the different stories
different people were telling. The different stories was just another
element of realism.>>

And it still didn't help the movie. Foreshadowing, great. That's something
new. How about throwing in some suprises or something? I realize foreshadowing
is a needed part of any movie, but so is ACTION (and I don;t mean car chase
type). The only time anything good happened was the aforementioned tent scene
with the little kids laughing. After that I thought maybe the movie would pick
up..but no, back to walking around...yay.

<<>WHAT?! The beginning doesn;t set up SHIT!

>>

Well, I guess I should've said..the beginning set up SHIT. I knew all this ,
and it was still a boring movie. Oh, 7 piles for the dead kids, it's a
graveyard...big deal, big boring deal.

<<>I disliked it because NOTHING HAPPENS, a major fucking plot point is that
>they
>see the same friggin LOG after walking all day. Oh, how original.>>

<<It's called 'getting lost' which is real. It would happen to me or you.
Their
reactions also serve to display their growing hysteria and frustrations. And
besides, the whole time of day seens add up to very little screen time.>>

And it's boring too...And are you nuts? Daytime doesn't add up to much screen
time?! It's more than half the film! Out of 2 hours, at least an hour and a
half is spent with them whining and bitching in the day.

<<>If realism means boring, then I guess you have a point there...>>

<<Perhaps the most realistic thing about the movie is the audience's reaction
to
it. Those who went in expecting to be spoonfed everything was disappointed,
and those who wanted to pay attention were pleasantly surprised. Just like
real life.>>

Oh, so now I don;t know how to watch a movie? Nice subtle insult. I purposely
avoided any reviews or anything about the movie because I heard that was the
best way to go into it. And no, I don;t like being spoonfed everything, but I
do like movies where SOMETHING HAPPENS. Not just endless scenes of walking
around and yelling setting up a total of 7 minutes or so of "scare" time. I
didn't know what to expect going in, and I was dissapointed as hell on the way
out. And hey, I'm real life.

<<
You go watch any other movie out now and tell me the dialogue is more
realistic. Care to try Wild Wild West? Deep Blue Sea? What makes the above
quote realistic is that anyone would've said it under such circumstances. You,
me, and nearly anyone else. Which is a lot more realistic than half of the
trash out there now.>>

Well, I was having a conversation about increasing the brain-mass of sharks the
other day but...Anyway, yes the dialouge may be more realistic than other
movies, but it doesn't make it "good."

<<>Yeah...the beginning does so much. We're supposed to get to know the
>characters, so it's harder for us to deal with their trials and
>tribulations...>>

<<Actually, you're not supposed to know too much about the characters...just
the
basics.>>

Which again, sucks. They were annoying 15 minutes in and I really didn't care
if they died. Which everyone knows they were going to anyway...

<<>Well, which enthralling depiction "scared" you the most. The two guys

<<Again, there were not any frightening parts at the beginning, and the spooks
didn't really occur until the second night in the movie. Stop being a
dimwit.>>

And you stop being the almghtly movie goer god telling me why I should like a
horrible movie, sparky. The "stories" were supposed to give an air of mystery
around the woods, maybe make the watcher a little nervous or something...which
they didn't. At least not me, and I'm real life.

<<>And if this story, or myth or whatever was bad enough for the town to

slayings. >>

Same thing, it had to do with the killings so they changed the name. I was
paying attention, I know because I had to concentrate on the friggin movie just
not to fall asleep. And I sure wouldn't walk around flaunting my town's
murders, which there are alot of. And I'd just as soon turn away some stupid
film student with a hand camera. And I'm real life.

<<>And just because you "think" you are supporting
>out-of-the-mainstream flim makers doesn;t mean you should call every piece of

Actually, I really dislike many independent films, and do my best to avoid it.
I expected the same of the BWP. The last movies I saw that were good that
would be considered 'independent' would be "Life is Beautiful" and "Night of
the Living Dead." As you can tell, I watch indy movies allllll the time.
<sigh>>>

That was just a little venting from another discussion bleeding into this
one...my mistake for making assumptions.

<<>I may have to go see "Deep Blue Sea," it'll probably seem
>Shakespearean compared to the BWP.
>

<<BWP never claimed to be Shakespearean. And if you went into the film
expecting
that much, and expecting it to be a special effects extravaganza, then you
already had formed opinions about it. Just like real life.>>

I came into BWP expecting a good movie, that's why I paid the money to see it.
No I don;t need big special effect or anything, if I did I would've gone to see
The Haunting which "looks" cool but seems very bad. Like most of Dream Works
stuff. The only opinion about the movie I had was that it was worth the $7 to
see, but that was soon disproven. And hey, I'm real life and I say the movie
SUCKS.

Hmmm...Judge Dredd? j/k I just noticed it was on now. I really can;t recall the
last good movie I went out to see...the last 4 times have been big let-downs.

I like alot of Tim Burton's stuff, looking foward to "Sleepy Hollow" as well.
Down By Law was good. Now there's a good movie where there isn;t much "action"
but the characters and their "adventures"are interesting enough to keep you
watching. I'm kind of a "kung fu" movie freak too. "The 5 Deadly Venoms" is
good in that genre. I just rented "Pie"(the symbol) and thought that was
pretty cool.
I really don't have a "preferred" genre, I just try to go into a movie
open-minded. Sometime I like it, and sometimes I hate it to the point of anger
that I spent money on it. And in this case, BWP was the latter.

People are always saying that "we" need to see blood, guts, and gore in
order to be scared. I, for one, went into the theatre hoping to be scared
shitless, but i walked out saying "what the hell did I just watch". The
ending was cool as hell, but the rest was just boring. The movie went a
little something like this:
1) they lay the groundwork for the ending, telling the details of what Parr
did to the children
2) they get lost in the woods
3) they hear things while camping
4)- 7) repeat 2 and 3 a couple times, and Josh disapears
8) The remaining 2 hear josh screaming, and run into Parr's old house, and
are bumped.
The only part that really got to me was the ending, the rest just bored me.

Thats untrue. It doesnt just take lots of Hollywood crap to make people like a
movie or think its scary. I mean, The Haunting was just plain out
horrible(worse then Batman and Robin), and it had tons of effects. I mean, the
Haunting really stank like dirty cunt. The Blair Witch project was ok in the
sense that it was old school and mad you use your mind to get scared and all
that, but it sucked in every other aspect. It didnt even look like a real home
video(meaning the picture quality). I heard awsome and scary and the best
thing ever, and was completely let down by this movie. It was a cool concept
and they succeded with the imagination, but the movie sucked. Bottom line,
dont waste your money.....wait for video and watch it.

listen. because you cant draw any value, or anythign out of th ebeginning
doesnt make it that way. the beginning serves to create a bit of mystique about
the documentary, to show that it might just be soemthing like the jersey devil

that or comprehend it. i dont know.

a lot happened. because it wasnt very flashy or whatever, you might perceive it

i think thats a bit unfair. in most hollywood movies, dialogue is rather
forced. it seemed to flow most of the time in this movie, like people might
actually say it in that occurance. character development was rather good
concerning the girl, but with the jay guy who went crazy, i missed that. maybe
it was me.

you might want to try lookng a little deeper. i mean what can i say? if soem

minor things.

im sure if your town siad that it was changing its name caus eit was ashamed of

what would you find more frightening?Being chased in the woods my something you
saw and knew to be dangerous, or being chased int he woods by some unknown
person or thing with an unknown amount of powers? i mean, if i saw a guy with

can keep up my stamina and run away from him and at least keep him distant but
in sight, that id be pretty safe. on the other hand, if be much more terrified
by not knowing where trouble may lie and that my every move might be brigning

i think ending with anything but that would have been a cop out. we dotn really
know what killed her, but i was like, "oh, shit, i guess that witch thing or
someone pretending to be it got to her." and i didnt know what it was, but i
knew, you know? i was thinking after i saw it, and i was like, "i wish i had
seen what it was, or there was more to the movie at the end." but then i
realized that if there were more, it would have taken away...something. no one
knew for sure what happened, no one at all. if you say soemthing, tid be like,
oh lets find this and get rid of it. not knowing what it was adds up to
helplessness.

i dont know. no reason for him to be crucified. think what she mustve though,
no coherently but in a "oh shit, its all coming into place sorta way." she
realized that it was all true, and that what the people told eh was true, and
she mustve felt some sort of helplessness cause it meant that she would be
killed right then. i can feel what she mightve felt and it doesnt feel good.
you ahve to look at it in a cetain way.

i can see that. i thought a lot of it was really, really funny. it made sense,
but it also was liek listening in to a conversation of a few people you dont
know that well.

i didnt think it was that scary. i agree, there were a few times tha tif
something big happened, that i wouldve been scared, but those things were never
delivered. and a lot of the movie was funny, and the ways the characters
reacted to stress was really frustrating because i wouldve said fuck you to the
two guys and RAN my ass off by myself to get out of there before whatever that
shit was got me. but you have to watch it and look for the little things and
appreciate them rather than waiting for something big to happen. i guess not
everyone can do that.

tent...laughing like children, leaving stuff outside of your tent..and
kidnapping your friends? I think you'd have second thoughts about going to the
woods at night after seeing this movie, whether you'll admit it or not.

the rock scene was totally awesome if you really thought about it. It
was one of those things that you are suppose to figure out for yourself.
The first time they see the rocks there are seven, which represents the
seven kids dieing. Then later they find three rock piles representing
there own deaths. I bet you none of the people who said they hated the
movie noticed this.

Final Thought...If you have ever read a book for the fun of it you will
love this movie.

As I said in an earlier post...I knew this, and it didn't help any.

I read all the time, and I hated this movie. Your point?

Yeah if it was happening to me I'd be pretty freaked, but the movie was too
boring to get into, and the characters sucked so I didn't care what happened to
them. Hence, I wasn't scared...Hell, I've been to Maryland and I was scared the
entire time, and I didn't even see any woods.

I can see where you're coming from. I think that for this movie, you have to
let yourself get immersed in it. I didn't give two craps about the characters
either...but it didn't matter because I was totally in the mindset of being in
that situation...and when I thought about that, I was freaked out.

You mean by the end of Return of the Jedi right cause Han Solo
can't be having too good of a time at the end of Empire.

Does anyone remember that special (I think it was on Fox or A&E) that
was about an Alien Abduction caught live on tape? The prefixed it by
saying that a family has dissapeared and the only clues were of a
videotape found in their house. It was shot by a kid who was
videotaping a birthday party. The power goes out and they go to
investigate and the fuse box is melted. They look out in the pasture
and see Aliens mutilating a cow. The aliens see them and they run back
in the house in a panic. The whole thing was very similar to Blair
Witch.

I saw the BWP movie last week. All I can say, is that I've seen
scarier things in the back of my refrigerator.
