WrestleMania. What a great tradition. We remember the great matches, like
Steamboat-Savage, Hogan-Warrior, and others... WM was always known as the
greatest card for utter suspense, feud solving and just all out fun.
Now, the card is a farce, as is the federation. And here are the reasons why:
1> Nothing was really settled by it. I mean, the Mega-Maniac/Money Inc.
situation ends by default. Perfect gets jumped by Shaun Michaels, and it
sounds like he's gonna get IC shots now... Gonzales-UT will go on forever and
ever...
2> Was it just me, or was it the Las Vegas setting at Caesar's that just
looked SO idiotic. Finkus Maximus?? PUH-LEEZE!!!
3> If I wanna see the Bikini Open, Luger, I'll order that instead...
4> Most of all, the WWF has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that it can not
survive at all without the Immoral One, Hulk Hogan. To literally hand him the
belt on a silver platter just three weeks after entering the federation really
makes Eric Watts' push in WCW look like a natural progression.
And many here could see it coming... House attendance is down. Fans are not
buying what the WWF has to offer... The scandals, the steroids, etc. etc. etc.
Especially after yesterday, I firmly believe the WWF may be under collapse very
VERY soon, and WCW may be the only major league left. I mean, NO ONE thought
the AWA would fold, but it all really started with that one bad super-card at
SuperClash III in Memphis [anyone remember that gem??]... This could start the
final fall of the WWF...
Worse yet, it DESTROYS any credibility the title had, even for the marks. The
WWF title is now worth NOTHING in the context of the wrestling itself. I mean,
this makes the Andre [R.I.P.] sale of the belt to DiBiase look legitimate. I
can not recognize Hogan as the champ, no matter what garbage McMahon spews down
my throat. I mean, I'll be watching tonight to see if they'll have an
announcement, which I hope they better as heck have, that Hogan loses the title
and we at least get a tournament out of it.
I can't recognize Yokozuna as the champ, since he basically gave it up to Hogan
by literal surrender... I mean, even in the context of pro wrestling, one leg
drop constitutes a match??? A TITLE MATCH???????
NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And Hart lost it in the first place...
Here's how I think the WWF should proceed [besides refunding the $30 many paid
for that schlock of a card]:
-- Strip Hogan of the title, by claiming Yokozuna should be stripped for much
the same reason that Hogan was stripped after Tuesday in Texas. You have the
same situation here, insofar as Hart was blinded by a foreign object. [In
Yokozuna's case, foreign in more ways than one...] At that point, allow the
decision to stand and strip Yokozuna, rendering anything that happened
afterward useless...
-- Proclaim either a Hart-Yokozuna rematch for the 12th or let the King of the
Ring tourney winner have the belt. Tunney is at ringside for this match.
Hogan gets no shot at it, since he has no place being champion at this point.
-- Suspend Hogan for interfering in the aftermath of the title match.
-- Finally, it sounds like a good top-to-bottom housecleaning is in order...
Start with McMahon (why was he not commentating?? Did it have something to do
with the **** spewed on this card??), go to the bookers, and a lot of the
talent. Basically, start over...
The end of the WWF as we know it should be at hand soon, else any semblance of
pro wrestling may be lost soon...

And this now makes it the SECOND (!!!) time that has happened. Anyone
remember how Hogan first won the title? Same basic scenerio, they just
played it out a little longer.
Bah!

First of all, note that the PPV services have a replay of WrestleMania
scheduled for next Monday (April 12); this could be replaced by a special
PPV featuring a Hogan-Yokozuna match. (I expected Yokozuna to follow in
the Iron Shiek's footsteps; win the belt, have Fuji claim that they're taking
the belt back to Japan, then have Hogan win the belt two or three weeks later;
since it's been about 10 years since Hogan first won the belt, none of the
marks would remember. In a straight match, Hogan might have the advantage;
that's one reason I was surprised they pulled the farce ending at WMIX.
Also note: there was no mention of the site of WMX...)
And why suspend Hogan? Give him a chance to fall flat on his face fair and
square. :-)
My prediction: an upcoming series of house shows will have Hogan pin
Yokozuna to give him a "real" win and appease the non-marks. Meanwhile, I
suspect there's something worse we have to watch out for: the return of
WWF Women's Wrestling...

They said on Raw that there will be a replay of WrestleScam IX on April 12.
They kept saying it was good enough to watch twice. Give me a break!!
Who would pay another $30 for sh*t like that. Hell, who would pay $30
twice for any wrestling PPV!

Well, remember in ancient Rome the contests in the coliseum got crazier and
crazier and at the end Rome burned.. Maybe the WWF will burn at Cesars
Palace.. It certainly looked like something outta the wildness of ancient
Rome, just no Christians being slaughtered..
Or were there...

The Decline and Fall of the WWF is at hand, folks. We've witnessed
the decline over the last few years, and Sunday's fiasco was the fall, IMO.
Geez, just because wrestling is booked doesn't mean it has to look that way.
