Will someone, anyone please tell me why McMahon booked Maivia to win the
IC belt??? There can't be a more worse choice other then maybe Brooklyn
Brawler. I'll even accept Blahmed as IC champ. I mean what the hell has
Maivia done to deserve such a push????? Does he have revealing pictures of
McMahon????? Maivia makes Mongo McMichaels look like Rey Misterio Jr. I
sure hope Maivia being an IC champ is a short term one.

Because HHH was scheduled for IYH, and Vince didn't want the title lose to
happen there. Consider Rocky to be holding the title for HHH for a week or
so.
RAW 2/24, HHH wins the title back.

I think you are quite harsh in comparing Maivia to Mongo, but still this
push is too much too soon. I expect he will drop it at WM to a heelish

I agree with you completely. Go back and look at the match and you'll see
that Rocky's only real offensive maneuvers were ducking and sending HHH
over the ropes and the small package at the end. I don't understand how
Vince can let this guy get his ass kicked all match and then win the title
at the very end with a small package. It would have been one thing if it
was just a match, but the fact that it was a title match is ridiculous.

If I had to guess, I'd say Rocky won because with Shawn leaving,
Vince wanted to create another babyface on top. Thus, Rocky wins
the IC title.

It was used to save HHH from complete humiliation, he kicked the crap outta Rocky
only to lose the belt on a friggin small package. HHH can still say he whooped
Rocky's ass and the win was a fluke. I don't see this title hold being too long.

An interesting thought...assume that you only have two choices to vote
for:
A) Austin as World Champ, Maivia as I.C. Champ
or
B) Hart or Michaels as World Champ, HH Helmsley as IC Champ
which would you prefer? you only get to select one of those two choices,
okay?
Incidentally, in my opinion, Maivia got the IC belt so that Mero's heel
turn can come about and a new feud between both for the IC title can
provide for entertaining house shows and PPV's.

A, hands down.
IC belt is reserved for mid carders anyway, and I really want to see
what Austin's antics will be with a belt around his waist, even if
it's gonna be a three month reign.
