You'll have to admit that the Bash at the Beach had enough stuff thrown at
us to even throw some curves and stimulate thought of all kinds of
wrestling fans and not just the "true believers". I salute them for it.
They fucked with our minds without insulting our intelligence in the least
bit. I'm talking about such things as:

(a) the apparent injury and stretcher performance by Luger that seemed to
indicate that Luger would be the one making the heel turn on a later
run-in.

(b) Woman's protecting her real-life husband Kevin Sullivan from the
savagery of Chris Benoit

(c) Mike Tenay's serious commentary on the Mexican match

(d) Hogan's unprecedented acknowledgement in his speech of the fact that
he's been largely booed the past two years.

Also, please note that they made the best matches of the evening the
longest (Rey-Psicosis, the tag matches, the "hostile takeover" match, Dean
vs DI) and kept the two obvious duds (Tenta and Duggan matches) mercifully
short.

Sorry Jeff, gotta diagree with you here. My intelligence HAS been
insulted. Hogan's lame explanation for this turn just doesn't cut the
mustard. We all suspect he didn't wanna do it, and contrary to
popular belief, I don't think he sold it all that well. Now I'm sure
they'll build upon it in the future to make it more inticate (and
thus, more believable), but it looked hastily prepared and extremely
insincere to me.

As I stated in another post, I've come to believe that Luger being
taken out on a stretcher was Bischoff's insurance policy in case Hogan
refused to go through with the turn. I wonder how close we actually
were to getting Luger as the 3rd man?

>(b) Woman's protecting her real-life husband Kevin Sullivan from the

This one needs some more explanation too. Like revealing on TV that
they are married for real, perhaps? It was a little too cryptic for
those *not-in-the-know*.

>(c) Mike Tenay's serious commentary on the Mexican match

I truly enjoyed that one...

>(d) Hogan's unprecedented acknowledgement in his speech of the fact that

Lines spoon-fed by Bischoff...

So noted... ;)

I'd like to know that too. Hogan has put too much in his good guy
image. I wonder what Bischoff had to promise Hogan during the two
hours he spent convincing him to turn heel.

I wouldn't think they would want this to come out. It would
demonstrate how closely these "enemies" stick together. Fans would be
asking themselves why Sullivan allows his wife to front for Flair, a
guy he supposedly hates.
Also how would this affect the angle that Flair and Liz are spending
all of Savage's money?
