Boy, we must share a brain, cause you think EXACTLY the same things
about DDP that I do....I hate the guy, and for the life of me, I can't
understand why anyone likes him. And Mortis....the guy has skills,
period.

The three of us are on the same page. People complain about Luger and
Hogan, DDP is friggin' brutal. Everything you guys said is true. I'd love
to see Goldberg no-sell the Diamond Cutter.

I don't hate the guy or anything. I think he's a mildly talented guy,
who at times (less and less, nowadays) will go out there and give 110%.
His mic skills are questionable, but I won't be the one to question it
since the crowds seem to dig it.
I think his relationship with Bischoff probably hasn't hurt his career.
Otherwise, he has shown he can work hard and that is something I
suppose.

Yeah, I do have to give the guy that. His "everyman" bit gets the crowd
going nuts, and he does look like he's busting a nut out there. Seeing as
how this is entertainment after all, I guess that's what matters.

It doesn't take someone cool to get a move like that done to
them....Johnny Attitude could have taken that bump. Norman Smiley could
have taken that bump. I could have....check that, Taskmistress could
have taken that bump. All the above are big losers.

I agree. DDP sucks. But you have to realize that most of the wrestling
fans out there are trailer trash.
That's why DDP is being pushed so much. That's why Raven's flock is also
over.
The WCW has the potential to be great, but loses my interest with guys like
Sting and DDP.
By making these guys seemingly invincible, they are turning wrestling into
a cartoon.

it doesn't take someone cool to DO a move like that, it takes someone cool to
get a move like that done to them. Not that I'm arguing with the fact that
Mortis is infinitely cooler than DDP, that move just wasn't one of the reasons.

I'll just say a few things here; I've never really thought Mortis had good
skills. He always strikes me as a bit of a clutz. And the guy has
absolutely no mic. Don't rag DDP for having semi-mic and praise Mortis.
The guy's entire schtick is based on silence. The day Mortis gives a big
interview is that day he's done. Yes, I'm a little sick of DDP's "lay back
in the corner" "who gives" attitude, but I do like the Diamond Cutter as
"THE" move in WCW. Has anybody ever got up after one? My theory has him
managing the Horsemen by the end of the summer.
It must just be you (and a few other guys).
> For the life of me, I can't figure out why he is so over with the crowd.
Because most wrestling fans can respect the guy for working his ass off every
match. He's one of the few upper carders who works for there money.
>The only thing he has going for himself is that he "BANG"s Kimberly.
I don't think that too many wrestling fans could give a damn about who he
bangs. If he has an one thing, its that wicked ass diamond cutter.
> And Mortis....the guy has skills,

Agreed, he's a trainer from what I understand, and he pulls out news moves
every week too. I guess he's joining the flock soon, which means he gets rid
of that gimmick (which I feel is his only drawback.)
>I'd love
>> to see Goldberg no-sell the Diamond Cutter.
Definitely! But I'd also like to see DDP wiggle out of the JackHammer to put
him into the Diamond Cutter.

Good enough, Flux. But, I think this thread has been chopped and cut-up
so much that it's hard to tell who wrote what. I did say DDP had
questionable mic skills, also lamenting that it didn't matter since the
fans liked it (ie. My opinion is nothing compared to the opinion of the
masses).
As far as Mortis goes.. I've never heard him on the mic, but I agree he
probably isn't much. "I want in" are the only words that have passed
his mouth that I've heard. Anyway, I didn't mention Mortis in my post..
it just got cutup so much that it was hard to tell who wrote what.

He (Mortis -- Chris Canyon) is a physical therapist, which means he's got to
be a pretty intelligent guy to go through physical therapy school. I hope
we get a chance to see if he has good mic skills. He should be articulate,
but personality is another thing, we'll just have to wait and see.

Hey, don't be so sensitive. My reply wasn't to try and argue with you, I
was just responding to the overall thread as I read it. No biggie
Did I come off as sensitive? Nah. I really only responded because I
also got some mail from people telling me they thought I was wrong,
etc..(they thought I wrote it, too). Also, though DDP isn't my favorite
and even if I thought he "sucked" I probably wouldn't have been as crass
as the original poster.
You won't have to worry about it too long once Benoit takes the
US title from him.
