Actually, I thought that Konnan was carrying the "Mexican Heavyweight
Championship" belt I seem to remember him having one when he fist
entered WCW.

When you control over half the wrestlers in the world, I guess its hard
to keep track.

No it doesn't. If you look closely it says AAA on the belt. That's
the belt of the AAA Promotion in Mexico which Konnan currently holds.
I'm surprised that they didn't mention this on the broadcast....

Most TV Tapings don't allow the wrestlers to bring the belts with
them to ringside, just in case they have a wrestler jump ship or lose
the belt before the match is aired. The SN was taped Tuesday, and
Konnan didn't have the U.S. Belt then.

Well for one if your nit picky about the eye thing you need a life and
the belt was the mexican heavywieght championship Konnan still holds.

Why don't they just admit the show was taped rather than try to cover up
obvious discrepancies? When this kind of thing happens, it is very
embarrassing for them.

"Continuity" simply doesn't exist for any WCW TV show except Nitro.
Remember, Bischoff tapes these *months* in advance. Not weeks, MONTHS.

This is why a few months back you could watch Schiavone/Heenan
praising Johnny B. Badd on Worldwide... and dissing him on Nitro for
leaving the fed.

It's just sloppiness. The WCW spends so much time and money promoting
Nitro that the rest of their TV is obvious filler.

At least on Superstars, they attempt to keep it fresh (IMHO, the
continuity on WWF TV is millions of times better).

I thought it was the WWA title he had with him not the US title.THe
belt was way too shinny and new looking to be the US title.

Your complaints are genuine but in this case Konnan had his AAA mexican
heavyweight title with him and not the US title. This saturday night
was taped tuesday after the Bash.

Not unlike the WWF? They also tapes shows well in advance of airtime
but at least have someone able to edit the flubs out.

One of my favorite continuity errors occurred a few years ago when Jesse "The
Body" Ventura was still doing commentary for the WWF. Jesse and Vince were
talking about the results of a PPV from a few days earlier. The only problem
was that in the PPV Jesse was clean shaven, and on the 'post' PPV show he had
his usual long mustache and whiskers. This was shortly before he left the WWF,
so I wouldn't be surprised if he did it on purpose.

Anyone consider the fact that the belt may have been the Mexican Heavyweight belt?
