I didn't find it too offensive; I mean, I can understand the symbolism there
w/the whole thing, but anyone who says now that the crucifixion angle was
blasphemous has not seen the show (or the Snappy clips I took of the incident,
which are now posted on alt.binaries.pro-wrestling) nor really understood how
this plays in the angle.
ECW tried it twice, in 1995 and 1996, and given how far they took it, fans were
outraged and incensed over it; WWF tried it tonight, and given how much further
it could have gone, they really could have pushed a lot of hot buttons tonight.
Note that in the first of the pictures, UT's chairshot to SCSA's head, the
chairshot is clearly blocked by SCSA, but he sells it anyway. It happens so
quick that hardly people would notice it. I can understand SCSA selling that
chairshot to the head. But Austin temporarily knocked out for that long to be
carried to the top of the ramp to be placed on the logo? I don't know whether to
say that was not realistic or just illogical.
Yeah, many people overreacted last week when the word was sent out on the Web...
now this week, they're saying, "Is that all there is?"
I guess even if the WWF doesn't want to apologize for their decisions and their
actions, they don't need to, considering that they haven't done anything really
to cause a huge uproar.
- Jeremy If you think Reggie White is a jackass, gimme a HELL YEAH~!
