LEWIS DRAW
I khow some of you are upset with Evander
Holyfield-Lennox Lewis fight decision last
Saturday night. As I stated both after the fight,
and on "Good Morning America" on March 15th, I had
nothing to do with the selection of judges or the
outcome of the fight. I never get involved with
any of the judges and if I see them, it's usually
in passing at ringside.
What I think we all need to understand, however,
is when the human element is broght into any
decision-making process in sports there may be
conflict, whether it's in championship boxing,
professional football, NBA basketball or Little
League baseball. The bottom line is that fights
are decided by judges. The boxing community, the
fans and the fighters ultimately have to respect
those judges and their decisions.
I am in the business of promoting fights not
judging them. In the long-run waht is good for
boxing and for my business are hard-fought clean
fights that keep people watching.

thrashed:)
They should have a giant tournament over like two years to crown a new champ,
that would be boffo:)
